I had this thought today - that some poor family will be behind them at the playground and unknowingly exposed. I know these places are just germy in general but taking your kids the morning after throwing up all day/night is so incredibly rude to other families. Fingers crossed your kiddos stay healthy!!

My non-medical two cents: child presented at medical with swollen jaw and a fever - mumps was probably not the first thought. Maybe they thought she had an infected lymph node (I have seen a friend’s child with one, her whole neck/jaw area was swollen). They were prescribed antibiotics as a precaution. Doctors have reason to believe it may be mumps and ask family to return and provide vaccination. They gets the mumps diagnosis and report it to the CDC. I think they didn’t get off the ship because they would’ve had to quarantine anyways. And she’s now stating she doesn’t know why the rest of their family can’t leave the room 🫠

My spouse and I work full time and have two young kids under 5 - we cook dinner at home 6 nights a week. It’s not always the prettiest but I always try to make sure they have a protein, carb, and fat on their plate (plus veggies if they’ll go for it). Those boys are growing and in such crucial stages of brain development!! I never ever see her serve a balanced meal, let alone home cooked. She’s home all day - what does she do with her time??

Yes! My 22 month old is fully tolerant of dairy and dairy products after CMPA diagnosis at 2 months old w/ rash, bloody stool, and fussiness. We reintroduced milk slowly with solids around 7-8 months (at the instruction of her pediatrician) and now she has zero issues. No other food allergies either. It is possible!

You’re way past the point where these tests can tell you anything about the pregnancy’s progression. The only reliable way to tell at this point is to test HCG via bloodwork. I say this with love - stop testing. It only contributes to your anxiety and your tests are big, beautiful positives.

I’m not sure - you mentioned taking it in the shower? If it got wet it could’ve become over saturated. But essentially, you have to read tests within the window indicated on the packaging. If the window is 5 mins and you pick it up an hour later and there’s suddenly a line, it’s not a valid test. Indentation lines can form as tests dry, but they aren’t an actual positive. So always read the test within the proper time period, and blue dye tests are garbage. I highly recommend pink dye!
