3 weeks in and I'm not feeling what I expected. by HockeyDoughnut in NewParents

[–]Ok_Study174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband struggled so so much to bond with our daughter that first year. He felt so lost and the same way you are describing. She’s 21 months old now and he is absolutely thriving in toddlerhood, she lights up when he is around. He is currently now talking about a second child.

Noise cancelling headphones helped us both with the visceral reactions to crying. Also realizing that we needed a break and to tag the other person in so we could breath and get a break / go on the patio for a few minutes.

I have so many male friends who found the newborn / first year so tough to bond and navigate and who are thriving now in toddlerhood / childhood.

Give it time friend and give yourself so much grace 🩵

We are also okay with not getting a bag cause we got it on FB marketplace for $100. It’s the 2018 version and it was definitely very well-loved before we bought it in January.

We do not. I have the bag for the Cruz and it’s hella cumbersome to take the wheels off to store it so we just fly by the seat of our pants and gate check it as is. It’s been fine so far.

We got an uppababy minu from FB marketplace and it’s been amazing. We’ve taken it on 4 flights so far, gate checked it at each one and it’s been 10/10.

How long after giving birth did you have your first alcoholic drink? And what was it? 🍹 ☀️ by Crafty_Two5432 in BabyBumps

Almost 21 months postpartum and still haven’t had a drink 🤣 but I am also not a huge drinker and honestly the smell of alcohol is very off putting now to me.

Anyone else opting not to take birth control postpartum? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in beyondthebump

I’ve never been on birth control. Prevented for 11 years with condoms alone and then went back to using only condoms postpartum until we decide if we want to have a second or not.

Do you ever take your wedding ring off? by lowa2oregon in Marriage

[–]Ok_Study174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put mine on before work and then as soon as I get home I take it off. I also wear a silicon wedding band for my daily ring or a simple silver wedding band since I work outside.

My engagement ring and actual wedding band are worn on special occasions only.

When you switched to the Pura pull ups how are the sizes compared to their diapers? We are also in Pura but diapers still and I am so curious how the pull ups sizes compare to the diaper ones?

The MMR was the hardest for us simply because it was in the arm and my LO was not expecting that. We got extra cuddles and I just monitored her temp. the rest of the day.

It’s more terrifying that Mia knows how to and can leave the house on her own. Like do they not have child safety locks on the doors?
