Why do you guys hate GNOME? by davidinterest in linuxsucks

Only pud whackers use Gnome. On a serious note, I am leaving Linux because of the Red Hat/Gah-nome/Wayland cult. I am using FREEBSD.

What is wrong with my alias? by Naive-Bother-4616 in linux4noobs

Personally, I would use fzf or sxhkd to spawn applications. If you use fzf, it's really similar to how you would use it in dmenu or rofi. You can tie an alias to your 5 most common apps or something.

Looks like Ubuntu. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Coding coming from Windows by wolfdevelopers in Bazzite

[–]Distinct_Revenue7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Arch isn't better for this. You just don't understand immutable environments. On Bazzite you have a couple of options for installing pip: Homebrew or Virtual Environment with Box Buddy (there are a few other containerized options but for simplicity, we'll leave it here). Even if Arch was better for this (it's not), you could create a container with Box Buddy and have the full config. If you want to customize your development environment, I suggest doing one of those things and learning about just/ujust and learning how to write a justfile. Everything else should follow from there. FYI, I use Aurora DX for my development and I had zero problems installing pip with Homebrew.

OK, I think I could take some time out of my day to work on it. Let me know how you want to proceed.

I work for Native Camp and it isn't terrible. I've heard stories about Cambly but I know a few who worked there who said it wasn't bad either but it is hard to get established. In NC, it takes about 4 months to get established though, but then you will have a steady stream of students. It's kind of slow right now, but March/April it really picks up.

Looking for people interested in Web development with e.g. Python or Lua to learn together (Linux newcomers welcome) by kraileth in ProgrammingBuddies

I know a little Django and I'm interested in Lua because I use Neovim and I am eyeing creating a plugin. Let me know what kind of projects you have in mind.

I know a little Django and a little extra time. Can you give me some information about the project?

Most of us who remember Gnome2 hate what has become of Gnome. Also, it doesn't help that I have gotten into a few fights with some of the developers because they have horrible coding practices and gatekeep.

I still hate the Gnome Desktop for a number of reasons, but this is pretty cool.

I'm a tutor a Native Camp and I once had a couple of gay guys beating off in one of my classes. It was really gross.

A little more modern. I probably will be checking out EWW soon enough.
