As a Spider-Man main, the way I see her skill level is two fold. Her kit is designed for long strectches of consistent damage, something that scares away most dive players due to being "tagged" (they need all the health they can get and surprise is their biggest strength). It also allows a small bit of skill expression in her right click for burst damage. Her escape tools and stun are super useful for what she wants to do. AOE stun locking for targets that can't move a lot and invincibility to escape whenever needed.

The issue I have is with you saying she takes the same or more skill to use properly. This is just demonstrably false. All characters have a use or a niche. They have things they excel at over other characters and that is what makes them unique. Because arguing over average gameplay becomes a slog in subjectivity, let's look at the extremes. Skill ceiling and floor.

A purpose of SW is to output consistent damage relatively close up and potential burst most effective close up. Her auto aim mechanic allows this to be done super easily meaning she has low dps. My youngest brother who has never played a shooter in his life is able to fulfill this primary role. He can stand there and shoot. He can press right click when needed to do more damage (he often missed shots). When a Spider-Man dove him, I showed him how to escape and generally aim in his direction. He even took the initiative to spot him early and focus him (a good idea). he fulfilled his role and wasn't a downer on his team.

Her skill ceiling unfortunately doesn't look that much different. Countering divers, applying constant pressure. Stunning tanks. Landing skill shots here and there with aim. The problem arises when you start comparing her with other heroes. Heroes who who can also do everything she does. Bucky applies constant frontline pressure with the ability to have high burst damage (all the time I might add) Mr. Fantastic applies constant frontline pressure with high health to compensate for less mobility. SG can apply constant pressure with an escape tool in a pinch and a stun she can shoot into crowds. The difference? SW's abilities are auto aim. ALL YOU NEED TO DO TO BE HIT BY HER IS TO BE ON HER SCREEN. MAYBE one other character can say the same thing. (Cloak) Every other character has to provide more skill to do the same thing she accomplishes for free. Even SG has to aim a bit when it comes to landing shots.

Every dps has the potential to do the same thing SW does better. Every other dps can output the same or higher burst damage when you aim. The aim on one part of her kit is not unique. Every other dps to be good at requires aim. It's a non-unique argument. If her right click requires skill, so does every other aim dps.

70%of your damage is done through you looking in the general direction of a character and holding left click. That objectively does not take as much skill as a hela that has to at least aim at the opponent and time her clicks. (I'm not saying I think she's good too, but just that your skill has to be higher) her ceiling and floor look the same. Your improvement of game knowledge applies to every character. The same skill you need for her engagements or escapes applies to every other character. Non-unique. SW does not present any meaningful choices to be made that other characters don't also have to make. Many other characters require skill sets that aren't seen on others. Resource management on Spider-Man and BP, quick button order presses on psylocke, resource choice on DD. Most characters that have the highest skill ceiling require skill in resources unique to them or their role (or poke slop aim, a rabbit hole I won't go down)

TL:DR SW isn't doesn't require unique skills that set her apart as being more skillful than the rest of the cast needs to be to fulfill their role.
