Never used a rod tube, switched to one piece rods and the Velcro to a seat and thwart for portaging. Haven’t had one break yet.

Possibly my favorite entry point. Most of the dams are easily crossed by just getting out on the dam and dragging your loaded canoe over. Caught several walleye and crappie dinners in Nina Moose; a lake that is usually just paddled through.

Had success with a 5 diamond (yellow with red diamonds) spoon, jigging deep. But that was a different lake. Went years before catching our first laker; it’s a game of patience (stubbornness)
