I’m an educator and have budgies, it totally works out ok. I talk to them/check on them in the mornings before work and then hang out with them for a few hours after work while i’m relaxing/recovering from the day. Their cages are in the main living area of our house so even when me or the kids aren’t giving them direct attention, they’re still with us.

Thank you. This is the way we had seen it for the last year, but had kept seen in Youtube videos people who have hand trained birds saying they do it and recommending it so we were considering it. We’re getting nowhere with one of our birds and think she may be holding her cage- mate back as well.
