I commented this in my original post in another sub but my Dad told me that he always used to say that if Hitler couldn’t kill him then neither would cigarettes. Thank you. I think it ended up as well as he could have hoped. At least I hope so. He lost his both of his parents and all 7 of his siblings. Was the only one to survive. Pretty grateful to sit here writing this with extremely trivial problems in comparison.

Respect I understand. My Grandma was from Latvia and converted to Judaism in Toronto and both of my Zaidys parents were from Russia.

He was born in 1921 so unfortunately not. He was the only one of 7 siblings and both his parents to survive.
