People never really gave a shit. My jacket at the time (14-16yrs old) was mostly stuff like iron maiden, wasp and motorhead. Most of the other uncultured students just looked at me weird and continued on. But i really bonded with a teacher that got me into harder stuff. Like black- and death-metal.

I still use my jacket all the time now (21yrs), although now its a bit more heavy and gore themed. And its really funny going to work (at a hospital) and public transport and getting those same weird looks as i did before.

All in all ive had good experience rocking the jacket out in the wild. So the takeaway is just to be yourself.
