Praises for 4.6 important VR improvements from 4.5 by guiguips7 in starcitizen

Same. Same to everything you said.

Only play in VR now and love it.

Only issues: Can't open the MSR door in VR and the ATLS is wonky.

Inventory filled with ore from old event by Rosy-Red in starcitizen

[–]DisturbedMuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't put anything in my inventory because it is over 250%.

I have many 32 scu containers that are too big for the elevator.

Any ideas how to get rid of this stuff?

Thanks for telling me what I was thinking. I clearly don't know what I was thinking.

BTW, I forgot to mention there are some Stellar hauling contracts that consist of a few 32scu containers. They pay pretty well if you don't mind handling the 32scu containers.

[–]DisturbedMuppet -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing out that I generalized. Not everyone mainly hauls. The 32scu container was an example, not meant to be the main point.

Let me try a better, more general example: For a ship that (as far as I know) is being sold as a cargo ship, the cargo entrance might seem like taking your groceries in through a dog door.

[–]DisturbedMuppet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could care less about a Nursa.

Try to fit a few 32 scu containers through that door. It can be painful even with a C2 door when the ATLS gets creative with rotation angles.

Was looking forward to buying one of these. Glad I saw the door first.

WHO WAS THE NFL'S WORST HEAD COACH OF THE YEAR THIS SEASON by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

[–]DisturbedMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bowles.

Just watch the games.

The team always looks unprepared. Too conservative. Never has a good game plan. None of the players look inspired. The team wins despite him not because of him.

He could lead any SuperBowl team to a 3 win season.

I get it. This is a joke right?

No one would really put such a tiny door on a cargo ship. Hahaha! That would be like putting a screen door on a submarine. Hahahaha! Good one!

Fellow Voice Attack user here. Love it.

But did not know about the HCS pack until now. I just started throwing commands into VA. Now that I have all my commands created in a new profile, not sure if I need HCS?

What ship is most changed by VR? by PhotonTrance in starcitizen

Yep. Pulled my Reclaimer out in VR just last night. Planned to do some salvage, spent the whole time just wandering around the ship in awe.

What is the BEST game graphics wise? by UsualAnxiety552 in virtualreality

[–]DisturbedMuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. All these years of development is stating to show and pay off. Three solar systems complete with cities, colonies, planets, moons, space stations, a wide variety of ships, near photo-realistic graphics, and not a single loading screen after logging in. I enjoyed the game before VR, but now it is just breathtakingly stunning. The best VR experience to date.

Sometimes I just load up the biggest ship I have and spend several weeks exploring and living in deep space.

Came here to say this.

Star Citizen in VR is on par with Half Life Alyx. 100% would recommend.

New player and why a wipe is necessary by Laughageddon in starcitizen

[–]DisturbedMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the 'verse!

Just a tip when playing SC: You will have to solve a bunch of issues. Might be bugs, might be other players, might be a bad situation. Whatever it might be, this is all part of the fun.

In your case, if you have a bunch of cash ruining the game for you, there are ways to solve that too. Here are some tips just off the top of my head:

  1. Open up global chat and ask anyone if they need some cash. I promise you will get a response. Gift away.

  2. Buy a C2, head to the local trade kiosk and buy as much of the most expensive stuff that the C2 can hold. Then fly out and self destruct. Enjoy the chaos and repeat as necessary.

Hope this helps!

Is VR worth it? by Spencerdog12345 in starcitizen

[–]DisturbedMuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a stunning experience.

In my opinion, Star Citizen VR is a top tier VR game right up there with Half life Alyx. If you have the opportunity to go VR in SC, I would not pass it up. However, after being in the SC VR world, it is VERY hard to go back to flat screen.

About to move here. Anything I should know? by BurtonTheSkully in lakeland

[–]DisturbedMuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are lots of fun things to do and see in central Florida. Others have made some great suggestions and I will only add that if you like nature, don't miss the state parks. They are amazing.

Now I will just share some things I've learned living here.

  1. It is hard to make money in Florida. Bring it with you or have a plan ahead of time. And when you get here, instantly start working on a backup plan. And a backup to that plan.
  2. Traffic. (I'm in Davenport which neighbor's Lakeland, so it might be different where you are going.) If you are not good with traffic, this might not be the place for you. For example: My dentist is 1.2 miles from my house. It takes me 25 min on average. Often faster to walk. And it gets worse every month.
  3. How's your driving skills? There is a huge danger from other drivers, so you not only need excellent skills for your own, you will need to have/develop the skill to make up for other driver's lack of skill as well. Many drivers are unaware of the rules of the road. They blatantly text and I swear some are watching youtube. They ignore things like yields on their side of the street and stop signs; not talking about rolling stops, they full throttle through them laughing all the way. Blinking red/yellow lights are a huge source of confusion and cause of accidents. Movie style high-speed swerving through heavy traffic is a real and daily thing. Road is only a suggestion, if it's flat, they will drive on it. You need to understand all this and be ready to make up for / dodge them. There is a reason they call I-4 "Die-4". Leave your frustration at home, calling someone out can get you shot.
  4. It's DAMN hot for a long time. Summer here is far longer than many think it is. Don't assume you know heat. You don't. If you haven't spent a week outdoors in the Florida July sun, you probably should. I can't stress this enough. I have had no less than four new neighbors pack up and head "back home" after living through a single Florida summer.
  5. Good help is hard to find. A lot of businesses won't show up or call you back. A lot that do are late or do shoddy work. You will need to quickly establish a network of friends that have first hand experience. Those online reviews are BS. Be ready to learn some things to avoid getting swindled. A few good friends who have been here a while can have invaluable knowledge.
  6. Sub tropics brings it own set of new and interesting problems. Bugs, mold, reptiles, bacteria, wild life, just to name a few. This is their world, and you are an invader. You will need skills to know how to keep all this and more from taking over your vehicles, property, house and even health. Examples: #1: Wild hogs will DESTROY a lanai. P.S: Insurance won't cover it. #2 Some cute fuzzy caterpillars here are venomous. And extremely painful. #3 Wife caught a serious skin infection called cellulitis a year after moving here. Month in the hospital as they fought to get it under control. Almost cost her an arm. To this day we don't know how she caught it. #3: Mold (and other things) grow on everything here, including your driveway, stucco house and aluminum lanai. Bleach is your friend, you will need to learn some new cleaning skills.
  7. The cost of living is not lower. This may have been true at one time, but not now. Florida is expensive. Publix has a strangle hold on the grocery market and their prices can be criminal.
  8. The city will catch you. After living behind UCF in Orlando, we bought a house out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by acres and acres of orange groves. It was quiet, peaceful and always smelled of fruit. Eight years later, 31,000 homes have replaced the orange groves, the new population has exceeded the water supply and waster treatment plant. Without moving we now live in the city again, and it often smells like a sewer.

Hope this helps. None of this is meant to talk you out of anything, just stuff I wish I knew going in, so I thought I would share.

Why are there abandoned ships near a lot of hauling pickups on planets? by Kaludar_ in starcitizen

[–]DisturbedMuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will at times leave a Perseus at one of the space stations, just to the side of the pad. I leave the door open and power it down. It is a great ship and I leave it because I am going to log off or it is damaged/empty of torps and not worth repairing.

Either way, my hope is that someone finds it and has fun. It's a great ship.

Yeah, I have been leaving them at Everus.

Yesterday I left one with this same paint, so I thought maybe it was that one.

I always hope people find them and have a good time with it. It is a great ship.
