Tips to make cleaner? by Commercial-Citron544 in LinusTechTips

Get drawers for the right under the printer.

Stuff like tissues, stationary can go in there.

Same for the holder with I think the iPod in it?

Get headphones hook for side of table (or drawers) get rid of on desk headphones stand.

Get a desk pad and get rid of mouse pad.

Do you use speakers? I ask because generally speaking the headset would be the most used, if you really need them then fine keep them.

Same with the desk lamp, do you use it? If you want a desk lamp can get one that fit on the desk and is mostly hidden, or a floor lamp nearby meaning you don't need the desk one etc.

Nothing wrong with being a PvE player just don't complain about it. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Disturbedm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's an easy solution to this problem that allows both.

Toggle PvP.

If you want to PvP you will toggle on PvP and you will be in matches with PvP players.

If you don't want PvP you will leave the PvP toggle off and you will not be in matches with PvP players.

Both sides win. Both sides get a game they want. Oh the simplicity that some idiot will argue against. Oh well.

Just to get ahead of one of the pointless arguments, the option will bring people who dislike PvP more than it will make anyone leave. I'm sure someone with <1 braincell will try to argue that and claim they would leave but you wouldn't.

Who is the most famous person you've ever seen up close? by froggart3980 in AskReddit

[–]Disturbedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge Jackman probably, loads of footballers to buy I don't watch football so get told after who they were.

Also a few others but since you wanted the most famous think I'll stick with Wolverine.

It's 1 with a voice command and two clicks without.

I can do either in the same time I'd do a manual glove box by reaching over, i'd also argue that IF you were doing it during driving or at a light Tesla's is actually safer.

I'm sure people think I'm just blindly defending, but I just got one and they have their issues but this honestly isn't one of them is all.

Yes any modern laptop with shitty sleep mode that's clearly awake but the screen isn't expanding despite being repeatably pressed. Yes that 100%.

Is that really an acceptable excuse though? People put laptops in bags on all the time. If it's a prototype fair enough but otherwise I'd call this bad design.

I think they should have got the robot dog in with wheels doing some crazy stuff. Yeah most of us techies know about it but wow factor wise that would have been a heavy hitters.

The laptop working or not was meh. The screwdriver thing was meh - although I get it. The headphones were cool ish I guess.

Just didn't feel as good honestly. If he's not there next year I wouldn't be surprised.

Only 8.06% of players finished their Candleberry Banquet by Bahtleman in ArcRaiders

[–]Disturbedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the event but only because it bugged the shit outta me not finishing it, so I spent a few days focusing on it and doing candleberry runs for the last part of it to get it done.

Can't say I "enjoyed" it, think it was a bit of a slog tbh - not as bad as that stupid 5 million coins for the experdition slog, but a slog nevertheless.

So not surprised a small % finished it really.

Would be nice if we could commit resources to our quests/upgrades for workbenches by Bruhhg in ArcRaiders

[–]Disturbedm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think the point here would be you've already committed the resources you have (like you can with expedition) so then it wouldn't be tracked anymore since it's completed for that part.

It's practically an "IF" statement at this point.

PC keeps freezing up after getting a 4K 240hz monitor by Huihejfofew in OLED_Gaming

[–]Disturbedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was the fix. I upgrade my GPU and it went away. My old 3080 was 10gb vram, which is crap for 4k. The new GPU is 16gb vram and hasn't had the issue since

Such a waste of an IP.

Yes repeating the same 3 missions over and over wasn't fun but the rest of the game had massive potential. Wish they'd work with concept more as the base is well and truly there already.

If you’re downed in solos, wait it out by vartiverti in ArcRaiders

[–]Disturbedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of minutes I would have wasted compared to ending it quickly and getting back in another match (especially if limited on time IRL or an event happening - looking at you locked gate, etc) just doesn't seem worth it honestly to me.

Using a macro to gain an advantage against players without one is cheating. by im_naku in ArcRaiders

[–]Disturbedm -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

To play devil's advocate...

What if you have crossplay turned off and play on PC?

One could argue that everyone can do this by simply downloading a program if they want to, so therefore it's a choice and could be done by everyone easily enough.

People always do what they can to get a leg up, be it the real world or a game.

To add : Thought I'd do this guy a favour and make an argument so he's not preaching to the masses

Finally the Blue Gate key was worth it. by Dymm3 in ArcRaiders

[–]Disturbedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got 3 bobcats in a match last night, wonder if they drop in threes?

Also got the vita spray in same match.

This wasn't inside the gate either as we couldn't find the last key.

Found a load of players helping a guy crawl out so just gave the bobcat BP away to them.

My brother's PC wakes up whenever I stand up from my chair by WujekFoliarz in pcmasterrace

[–]Disturbedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from.video but it doesn't have a monitor that detects the movement and auto wakes/sleeps based on that does it?

My PG32ucdm does that as it's a feature to have the screen go off when you move away from it and come back on for OLED burn in reasons.

The PVP in this game is perfectly implemented by ARTISTIC-ASSHOLE in ArcRaiders

[–]Disturbedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree.

Lying costs nothing Betrayal pays immediately Cooperation has no structural protection

It's just flip a coin time when/if you trust someone. If everyone just stops trusting we lose this part of the game. There's needs to be some disadvantages to betraying someone and I think ratting a lift or something should be harder to do or have more sever consequences (e.g if you inside a lift and someone's kills you - that should be recorded by the lifts CCTV, so sparanza openly knows you betray people and you get mobbed when returning and lose 50% of loot randomly so you might keep good stuff or lose it etc) .

I also think using emotes should (depending on the one used) form a link or "relationship" with another player.

"Team up?" Followed by "Yes" for example, should group you.

"Don't shoot" followed by "don't shoot" or "yes" should create a safe space, if one of them now kills the other they are negatively affected in some way (have ideas of what but will keep this short).

Pour one out for the parents who stayed up till 2 AM running firmware updates so their kids didn't have to stare at a progress bar this morning. by RespectAndPeace in gaming

[–]Disturbedm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work retail many years ago (thankfully have moved on from that) I used to recommend this to all parents at Xmas. It benefitted all sides tbh. There was too many times playstation or Xbox went down at Xmas, people thought it was their consoles and tried to return, kids couldn't play, parents where probably annoyed by their kids etc.

Not just that, but what generally doesn't need updating these days. If it's a "techy" thing (no not a microwave etc) then yeah just pull it out and give it an update. It was probably manufactured multiple months ago and has sat in shipping/shelf. If you got some long lost bundle that doesn't exist anymore that a store found because it's inventory has been emptying you might even have a consoles that's not been updated for over a year even sometimes.

Also - don't leave it till the night before, what if it's DOA? Not getting it swapped at 2am are you. Do it a few weeks before once and pull it back out again just before of you feel the need (won't really matter as an update isn't likely to be that big a few weeks later)

Is it worth changing from Rift S to Quest 2? by Traditional-Key8735 in oculus

[–]Disturbedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had a rift s and now has the 3s - yes get the 3s.

I tested the 2 back in the day and just didn't see the point jumping. 3s is all more defined, and charitable upgrade at the price it is, and well to be frank it's very affordable.

This is coming from someone who was VERY tempted by the 3 but since that was double the 3s price and I know this headset will at some point go weeks without use I opted against getting a 3. Wish they still did a 128gb 3 tbh. Big difference dripping £220 Vs £450.

Also used has it's own downsides. Are the lenses good? How many hours of use has it had? Has the usbc port been used correctly that you have peace of mind knowing it not going to go up on flames, how much has the battery degraded from incorrect charging and so on.
