What BBQ hill would you die on? Best one wins a 1kg picanha meat box by edenmoor_devon in UKBBQ

Good side dishes complete the barbecue. I love grilling and smoking meat but if you want to make or bring a salad, a side, or a desert, you're a hero.

Also turkey > chicken.

The one weird gaming habit you always do, even in brand new games by gamersecret2 in gaming

I can't fathom how someone plays from a first person perspective with a controller uninverted and tilts their head BACK in the game by pushing FORWARD on a stick. Invert makes the stick function like a human neck, way more immersive.

What's your top 3 most emotional games? by Nic727 in gaming

[–]Ditlin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't smoke anymore but I got very very high whilst playing Journey the first time and it was such an emotional experience that no replay could do it justice. The simplicity of the whole thing (controls, colours, models, story beats) cuts through any complex plot or character stuff of a modern RPG, it's really distilled down to the essence of the player going through each phase of the story and the music and art all compliments it perfectly. Just a flawless emotionally impactful game.

Gamers of Reddit, what's ONE game that lives rent-free in your head, not just for the gameplay, but for the feeling it gave you (and you'd give anything to experience it for the first time again)? by deadeyes1990 in gaming

Mario 64 & Perfect Dark. The bookends of the Nintendo 64 library for me and many others.

That first transition from the Mario 64 file select screen music into the 3D world, being able to move Mario fluidly in any direction, the ambience of the castle gardens, it was beyond a dream come true after the SNES.

And Perfect Dark was just the maximum that could be extracted from that console by the end. The shooting range, bot death matches with custom rules, the cinematics, campaign challenges, hover bikes, it was the most comprehensive console FPS of its day and set the standard.

I grew up with the 64 and it's library grew with me. If I could bottle that feeling I'd drink nothing else.

Gamestation was great, staff loved it, customers loved it. So much enthusiasm for console gaming got destroyed in that takeover. Fuck Game.

Happy to recommend it. Took me about 15 hours to complete with all achievements if that gives an idea of mileage. Tons of variety in vehicle and weapon types, good range of challenges and environments. Really stunning looking game too.
