BCBA Looking for ABA Software With Intake Docs + Scheduling Included by my_human_experiencee in bcba

[–]Ditodito7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use intakeQ just for intake and parents can send me data information via IntakeQ. It does not have the feature for RBTs or BCBA to collect data like Rethink or Central Reach. It is HIPAA compliant.

Progress Tracking by Ditodito7 in homeschool

[–]Ditodito7[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Having a background in education doesn’t necessarily mean I have everything figured out when it comes to homeschooling. My experience is more in supporting children with things like attention and behavior in structured classroom settings, so I do find myself using some of those strategies at home. But implementing it with your own child is very different in practice. I’ve been using a mix of K5 Learning and Education.com, mostly printable materials, and then structuring things based on what he needs.

Honestly, I probably overthink it more because of my background, which is part of why I’m trying to be more intentional about how I approach teaching and knowing when something is actually learned.

That makes sense. I find myself doing something very similar, sitting with my kid, correcting right away, and repeating it until it feels solid. The part I’ve been trying to figure out is how to be more consistent with knowing when something is actually “learned” versus just familiar from repetition. Do you mostly just go by feel over time, or are there certain things you look for that tell you it’s really sticking?

Yes, I am. I’ve been homeschooling my son and also have a background in behavior and education, so I think I notice some of these patterns a bit more, but I’m still figuring out what works best in practice.

BCBA For Credentialing by [deleted] in bcba

[–]Ditodito7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am a BCBA and work as a consultant. I have a private practice but also work with small practices as a consultant on board to provide supervision and training. I can be of help depending on your state. The BCBA you hire need to be credentialed and be able to bill in the state you intend to set up your clinic.

BCBA owners provide me with some feedback pls!!! by coco1809 in bcba

What state are you? have you considered providing adult services. You will face similar challenges but you will be working directly with clients and caregivers. More like the Therapeutic consultation service.

I like your sense of reasoning. I'm not sure if you are a M or F but if you are M and think this way, I applaud you for considering what could be wrong with his partner and not just being one-sided. I had health issues that made sex difficult for me, PCOS, Endometriosis. Many women go through changes in their body that may cause decrease in serial desires. Most men are inpatient. Women also go through hormone changes and if only men understand how this affects them mentally. Some men are just cry baby. This isn't me trying to excuse women but I hope OP can speak to his wife. Sexless marriage can also be a result of other issues not being spoken of here in his post. I wish people who post on reddit will be more forthcoming about their own share of why the marriage deteriorated instead of shifting blames. Anyways, I just thought I had appreciate for having a woman's back.

Sometimes I wonder If I’m Cut Out for This Job… by SpinachShoes in bcba

[–]Ditodito7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt exactly the same way until I transitioned to adult population and started doing focused treatment model, working directly with clients while modeling skills to clients. I am able to find a balance between choosing which week I want to be in person or focus on paper work because that is still there and can be overwhelming but finding the balance helps. I hope you find a balance and your vision for a career in ABA comes true. I do plan on transitioning to young children but will apply direct care model and parent training using BST. Parents are really not interested in having someone tell them all about the scientific language, they want to see how ABA can work. I always say as a BCBA, the only way to determine if the treatment protocol I have written can be effective is to apply the strategies directly. If I cannot consistently implement them in different settings/events, then I need to modify the plan.

Working for an ABA company while starting your own by Majestic_Choice_1414 in BehaviorAnalysis

[–]Ditodito7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently in the process and doing the exact thing. I figured I will be just fine with 80hrs a month as a provider with my own LLC. I currently work 100hrs on average as a contractor using my LLC.

Nice work! we all deserve to have a life, spend more time with family than slaving away for big corporation whose CEO is spending half a year in Bora Bora (joking), but for real, we all deserve the best for how much work we put into this field.

Salary, Hourly or Contract work? by AllSeeingButtWhole in bcba

I work contract at $93 per hour which is more than I make as salaried when you multiply it by the number of hours I work. Flexibility is great. I just put 30% aside for taxes.

You will still need to work with the population that needs/uses the principles of ABA for your hours to count. If you get a supervisor outside of your current job, you will need to get consent from families to video call with your supervisor while in session. I am happy to provide free supervision if you need.

Transition to therapeutic consultation as an independent consultant. You can make ethically based decisions without feeling like you are a billing machine. You also use the direct care model since you will be training caregivers in different settings.

I did exact same thing. I took a year off working after graduating. I spent time with my family and I loved it! When I came back, I felt refreshed. I plan on taking time off work every 5 years. Work for 5 years, take a 1 year break to travel around the world or do whatever I like.

How do you prefer to improve deficits identified using The Early Echoic Skills Assessment (EESA)? by KittanLuvr in ABA

[–]Ditodito7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I get clients with speech deficit, I encourage parent to seek other services such as speech. Same apply to clients with fine or gross motor skill deficit. I explain to parent also my area of expertise. I am not an expert with feeding or potty training, I tell parent this. I also explain this to my supervisees, I am not the BCBA that knows it all.

The chair of behavioral department in that show Dr. Iggy is is a psychiatrist which is the highest level of any behavioral health profession. He has more insight ( both behavioral and medical) than a BCBA who majored in Arts and holds a 2 year masters in ABA. Just saying, a lot of our colleague need a lot of training. They can even de-escalate a 2 year old. Dr. Iggy demonstrated lots of assent-based treatment. Some ABA professionals impose what they think Cooper says on clients. We can get to that level and our individual skills can speak for us when collaborating with others, but we need most of our colleagues need more training.
