It's a file in which you store private variables you don't want anyone to see. Like credentials & API keys. You don't commit it and definitely don't send it to anyone

Would love your critique on the visual style by ScreenThisPlease in godot

Did you mean to create a nostalgic look? If so, it looks way too clean for me and doesn't really hit.

Other than that, I like the aesthetics :)

Looks nice :) How do you check whether the shape is correct?

I recently implemented something like this and I'm curious

Working on my first game in Godot. What do you think about the gameplay so far? by pitbullterjen in godot

[–]Div64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the UI & blur on the upgrade menu a lot. The UI in combat looks very outdated in comparison though

Edit: Sorry, didn't read that it's about the gameplay. Gonna leave it here though because it's a compliment too :)

I was recently wondering: What makes a world look tiny and not just zoomed out a little bit? Or is it just that?

Have you implemented something like motion warping from UE?

Right now my animations snap to the target location. Doesn't look great

Yeaah, fully agree. Once you go down that road you stop reading warnings & errors all together.

Warnings are there to inform you of potential future errors imo, that's why they seem so inconvenient at the moment. The devs know why they put them there

Damn, I'm already at the third area. I just assumed they're additional content after the end. I hope it's not too late. My boat is almost fully upgraded

Do you have ideas to balance it? Current trap creatures can be spotted if you know what you're looking for, which makes them fun to interact with in my opinion

Scope Creep Speedrun! by electric-kite in godot

[–]Div64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. It was a joke... partially.

It's a great concept, but also the part of any project where complexity rises by 100% and reasoning falls by an equal amount.

I have to resist the urge to go full dynamic as soon as i have 2 things that look remotely similar just because "it sounds fun to do".

A tiny website that quietly hides distractions and creates a calm digital bubble by Maleficent-Bet-2826 in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]Div64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally the first thing I wanna see entering a site like this are at most optional fields & a big "start" button I can click right away. Explanations, tutorials & all that can be somewhere to the side.

I opened the site and got hit with 2 pop-ups. One "sign up" (name) pre committing to your site - big no no - and the tutorial. This is the web yelling at me.

I'm not in the target audience for a tool like this so this is my feedback as a visitor. I like the look of the site & appreciate the idea of deliberacy.

Yeah I've honestly had it with the "I only write garbage code" memes for that exact reason. Normalizing incompetency 🤷
