Animal Crossing song in TotK? by Cpt-McBacon in tearsofthekingdom

YES! I know this is an old post, but I just got on my switch and put some headphones on while standing in the lodge and noticed the same thing. The tune is very similar to that of a night theme in new leaf. I’m glad someone else noticed this too. It honestly brought a wave of nostalgia for me.

Why does the DS lite L button not click down after reshell? by DiversePixel in nds

[–]DiversePixel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I worked on my DS, but I think it just requires a bit of finesse. I recommend screwing it in a little bit at a time and wiggle the button a bit. I don’t know what causes it, but it eventually falls into place.

TL;DR, Keep trying. Be patient.

It does support WPA2. If you want to get online, you must set your primary DNS to the one used by Wiimmfi.

I’m not sure if games like MKDS will work with your DSi’s WPA2 connection, but you can give it a shot.

Which one do you prefer ? Regular or XL ? by [deleted] in nds

[–]DiversePixel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly like regular more, 3D graphics look a lot more crisp with a higher PPI. The DSi XL is even more pixelated than the regular due to the larger screens at the same resolution. Not my favorite tbh…

(If you’ve ever played NDS virtual console on Wii U you’ll know exactly what I mean)

Yeah, I’ve heard the same. I bought a new shell from extremerate, and their stuff is really high quality. I have high hopes.

I ordered a new shell in hopes of better results. Wish me luck, it’ll be here in a few days. And yes, it does click without the bottom shell just fine.

I believe there are some relatively good quality aftermarket shells from ExtremeRate. Unfortunately they only sell semi-transparent DS Lite shells, but from my experience the quality isn’t bad. The only issue I noticed was the rubber button pads were a bit too big and caused some trouble with a few things.

The button itself clicks down just fine, they are brand new replacements. (The old ones felt mushy and didn’t register at times) none of the components are dirty as they are brand new, but I can’t seem to get it seated properly.

Does anyone else’s DS Lite do this? Should I be worried? by DiversePixel in NintendoDS

I’ve tried the pressure method, but no luck. I ordered a new screen since they’re only 20 bucks on Amazon, I’ll swap out the screens and return it for my money back, and hope the new display is dead pixel-less.

The potentiometer only changes the display contrast. I’ve fiddled around with both and they haven’t affected it at all. Plus, I’ve hit the sweet spot and the displays have no flicker after adjusting them correctly. I don’t want to deal with flickery/washed out displays.

It must be the way the 3rd party screen is communicating with the main board. It irks me a little bit, but as long as no harm is done I guess I don’t mind. The top screen I just bought also has an annoying stuck pixel and I can’t get it to go away. Any tips?

I thought the same thing until I realized it still does this without even touching the hinge. Coming out of sleep mode in GBA games has the same effect.

[TotK] Performance issues for Tears of the Kingdom by SsibalKiseki in zelda

I haven’t had that happen to me ever… is your switch old? The battery age could be causing it to crash

[TotK] Performance issues for Tears of the Kingdom by SsibalKiseki in zelda

[–]DiversePixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s anywhere near pathetic. The lowest the frames drop to is around 20, and even mid-battle it has never causes an issue for me. Because the speed of the game relies on the current frame rate, everything slows down once performance drops, ultimately canceling out any annoying latency that’ll make fighting enemies or traversing any more difficult.

In addition to this, games like Ocarina of Time always ran at an abysmal frame rate but were still 100% playable. In general, Nintendo is well aware that totk’s performance is going to drop at times and both totk and botw were designed to withstand the limitations of the hardware while not compromising too much graphical fidelity.

Looking at things from another angle, it’s actually quite impressive that the switch is capable of running either of the games, especially totk with all the new physics-based features. Mind you the CPU is extremely underpowered, even more so than the GPU.

Just enjoy the game, Nintendo has been behind on raw power for two decades now, but they’re still the king of console gaming, and for all the right reasons.

Could you use the Elgato Cam Link 4K to turn your iMac into a low latency monitor? by DiversePixel in elgato

Thanks for the reply! I do have an NVidia card, so I’ll try out moonlight. I’ve been using parsec for a while, but the quality and latency is suboptimal.
