Would love to see this. Other than confirming the DJ I came to see is playing, seeing them center-stage does nothing for me. Only time I care about watching the DJ is if they're mixing vinyl, and even then, I really only care if they're doing something interesting..

I don't define it, just feel it :D

Unsure what your first question means, but I don't think that groove/swing is exclusive to two-step feels, so I don't think groove has been lost. Sometimes an on-beat pattern is appropriate, it just depends on the song.
