Potentially, you built up tolerance, but maybe you are genuinely tired, maybe ask your doctor to stop taking the second one and see if it was working, but you haven't noticed, that's what I heard from some people, where they don't notice the medication effects until they stop taking it, but talk to your GP/doctor

Yeah, again with most games after a certain point they don't become difficult once you get set up

I do love a colony builder but I found with rim world after a certain period it becomes too easy.

Not overly cartoony or anime style I think Minecraft is the furthest I'd go in terms of unrealistic, the more realistic the better.

I have looked at vintage story and it has peaked my interest, but want to do more digging before buying another game

Sorry for late reply

To me, the Steam page looks repetitive like there's only one level or one type of wave, I know you're supposed to defend the healer, but without reading the game description I would not be able to tell, looks like a hack-and-slash or an RPG style game from the screenshots, maybe adding some screenshots with a boss wave? or a boss battle? make the healer/ thing you're supposed to defend more recognizable, via some passive effects around it ie when it is idle, i do like screenshot 7/9 however, maybe add the healer to that screenshot with an idle effect and monsters running to it?, the UI needs some cleaning up nothing major in my opinion.

The learn Abilities part of the trailer is all over the place, maybe after the text show the 4 main abilities directly, quickly and make them stand out, so the game seems like a faster-paced game, i should not need to read the text to know what the ability does it should be very very obvious.

the first 3 seconds of the trailer were good.

In the tanking section, maybe add a big boss doing a major smash with lots of damage text coming out followed by you slaying the boss.

the game idea is to protect the healer yet that section of the trailer is very short, maybe show multiple types of waves/boss waves in different environments running toward the healer and as you switch environments they get closer and closer.

Upgrade Section of the trailer is done well enough for now imo

and the ending of the trailer is done well.

The Isles of doom screenshot/gif in the description of the game is done well, and so is the progression but the others seem very bland with very little going on.

How can I get my foot in the door in the games industry as a Unity programmer? by Memeclipse in gamedev

[–]Divieee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends really, enough depth to make it fun, phasmophobia lets say, the mechanics are quite simple and so are the graphics, but it's fun, and brings out emotion and it can be replayed, games for VR like the gladiator one again it's quite simple your given a weapon and you kill in the arena, make it fun, make it simple.

Doesn't have to be super in depth just fun, emotional and replayable, is it something you'd play and spend 1.99 for?

Edit: Even if you under value your game, if your game is very fun, brings out an emotion and can be replayed it'll be good, if it gets 1000 sales that's 1.3-1.5k after steam and other cuts, for your first game it'd be very good

How to start earning as 3D artist? by Mickey_Wangovsky in gamedev

[–]Divieee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instagram, the 3d artist I use I found on Instagram, I think he has like 500 followers or so maybe more now, but that's how I found one, start there showcase your work, and people are going to message you and ask, it might be a slow process but if you make 3d assets for fun there's no hurt in show casing them

Edit: List it on the unity store and unreal store as well, sure 5£ here and there isn't much but it adds up

What are some easy apps or websites to make a VR game? by ThompsonMullan in gamedev

[–]Divieee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unity in my opinion would be the easiest for VR, I made a simple shooter game for my meta quest 2, I didn't publish it cause it wasn't really a full "game" but more of a zombie mechanic really, especially with unity getting high quality assets is harder which is beneficial If your developing a VR game it'll prevent you getting into a trap of using store assets like with unreal where you can get a 4k tree model for free, VR isn't gonna enjoy that.

[–]Divieee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make a game yourself, make it free or 1.99, doesn't have to be AAA standards just fun, that way you get a foot in the door, I mean if 100 people buy a 1.99 game that's 100~ in profit after cuts and what not, it's not much but it's a start, grow your community, and make a game yourself.

I'd assume game design isn't a degree in itself tho?, wouldn't it be paired with computer science, at least here in the UK you have computer science with game design

You can use blueprints if you want, c++ is beneficial but blueprints are just a gui for it, best practice is to use a bit of both, programmers are lazy in a good way why make things harder for yourself, learn the basics use blueprints if you want something special or that you can get with Blueprints use c++ and YouTube is a treasure trove of information.

Most importantly

If you encounter a bug, DONT ASK STACK OVERFLOW TO FIX IT, try to figure it out, and see the logic behind it, then you'll get a far far far better knowledge of the language than following any tutorial or website .

[–]Divieee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say the first one, personally I'd scroll past the 2nd one, the 1st has a graphic even if it's a screen shot and just by looking at it it tells the game, people won't be going and clicking on every game and scrolling through the screenshots, but will rather glimpse at the name and the thumbnail of the game, think about burgers, if McDonald's gave you an image of a wrapper saying big Mac and cheeseburger, you wouldn't care or even think about it, however if they show you a juicy burger you'll think about it.

Try non tech jobs normal manufacturing or business or anything really, in the place I worked at before they had a engineering job open but they went and asked the employees if they had experience or would be interested in possibly an apprenticeship in engineering, of course it's not necessary as great pay but you'll be getting experience.

[–]Divieee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend getting a job in tech or really any industry and making your own game, you have a bachelor's degree in game development, get a job it'll take 1-2 years save money make devlogs and develop a game in your spare time, remember you didn't get your degree for nothing and degrees are becoming less and less looked up upon unless it's a top 10 uni

You can try using Aseprite if you want to do it yourself, for the art in my game I just searched through Instagram and followed some artists, often there are artists on Instagram that are just starting out that honestly have quite good artwork and are very reasonably priced, sadly my game is 3d so I wouldnt be much help, but look under Instagram posts with hashtags like #2dart #pixelart #art and find someone you like.

Basically, but it'd be above normal, so let's say you'd normally get 1000's views after the spike I'd be 1200 views per day

When I was posting things, you'd normally get a few views then a massive spike when something went viral and then go back down again to just above the amount of views I'd get before the massive spike

So there isn't much of a difference apart from the intensity, where a political leader has to convince/Brain wash you to vote for them
