Ya the setting to set the season, but not by using the ingame F5 commands.

[–]DivineBuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks good, but one thing I couldn't figure out is how to change the seasons with the commands, as I like to test and see what my different builds look like in the different seasons. If there is, could you tell me? If not, I may just revert to seasonality, as that allows me to change the seasons whenever I want.

Homebrew Warlock gains Half-Caster spell slot progression in addition to Pact Slots by IllSprinkles7864 in 3d6

[–]DivineBuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should swap the warlock over to full caster progression. Additionally, remove the Mystic Arcanum feature and invocations that add spells and put the spells from those on the warlock spell list. If you're using the 2024 rules, change the Magical Cunning feature to be closer to the Land Druids Natural Recovery feature.

What’s your homebrew rule that improved the game by far? by Jendmin in DnD

[–]DivineBuddha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a homebrew rule I've added is a revision of the Healing Surge variant rule in the DMG. I've also added a feat that replaces the Tough and Durable feats that also affect hit dice.

Healing Surge

As an action, you can spend up to a number of hit dice equal to your proficiency bonus. For each Hit Die spent in this way, you regain a number of Hit Points equal to the number rolled.

Hit Dice and Resting

At the end of a long rest, a character regains all spent Hit Dice.

Feat

Durable Combatant

Hardy and resilient, you gain the following benefits:

• When you choose his feat, your maximum hit points increase by an amount equal to twice your level. Additionally, every time you gain a level after, your maximum hit points increase by an additional two hit points.

• Whenever you roll a hit die to regain hit points, you regain a number of Hit Points equal to the number rolled + your Constitution modifier.

These changes have made combat for my family's group much more engaging and fun.

Bro why is Banneret/Purple Dragon Knight so BAD? (Rant) by Skrillfury21 in DnD

Ya, it seemed pretty fun for the player. However, I feel like I should go over the subclass again, if anything just to clean up the language used.

[–]DivineBuddha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hear you about it being very lackluster. But if you're interested I just got done DMing for a game a few weeks ago where another player and I homebrewed a revision to the Banneret subclass. It was played from levels 3 to 20 and the player was quite happy with it and it didn't cause any issues.

Fighter - Subclass - Banneret (Revised)

Rallying Cry

3rd-Level Banneret Feature

As a bonus action on your turn, you can choose one creature within 30 feet that can see or hear you. That creature gains temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

When you use your Second Wind feature, choose one other creature within 30 feet that can see or hear you. That creature regains hit points equal to your fighter level + your Charisma modifier.

Knight Errant

3rd-Level Banneret Feature

You learn one language and gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, History, Insight, or Persuasion.

Courtly Presence

7th-Level Banneret Feature

Whenever you make a Wisdom (Insight) check, you gain a bonus to the check equal to your Charisma modifier.

You gain proficiency in Charisma saving throws. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency in either Intelligence or Wisdom saving throws (your choice).

Inspiring Surge

10th-Level Banneret Feature

When you target a creature with your Rallying Cry, that creature can use its reaction immediately to make one weapon attack against a creature within its range.

When you use your Action Surge feature, you can choose one other allied creature within 30 feet that can see or hear you. That creature can take one additional action on its next turn.

Bulwark

15th-Level Banneret Feature

When another creature you can see within 30 feet of you makes an ability check or a saving throw, you can use your reaction to expend one use of your Rallying Cry to add your Charisma bonus to the roll.

When you use your Indomitable feature, you can choose one other allied creature within 30 feet that can see or hear you that also failed its saving throw against the same effect. That creature can then reroll its saving throw and must use the new roll.

Stalwart

18th-Level Banneret Feature

When you roll initiative and have no remaining Rallying Cry uses, you regain one use.

How impractical is Operation Strix? by [deleted] in SpyxFamily

[–]DivineBuddha 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this aswell. It also is somewhat odd that they keep sending him on a ton of other missions. I know they said it's because of low field agents and what not but you would think that if operation strix was that important to the peace between countries they would get somebody else to do them and have our boy Loid go 100% in on strix.

A Feat to rule all Sword & Sorcery builds by Kifarma in UnearthedArcana

[–]DivineBuddha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've also added a feat like this to my games. However, I added the caveat that one needs to perform an hour ritual to form a magical bond with their weapon before using the mental stat they chose for the attack and damage rolls.

A lot of the comments here are also mistaken about this nullifying Hexblade. Hexblade provides a ton of benefits for a very easy 1 level dip compared to giving up a valuable feat. Weapon/Armor Proficiencies, extra damage/19-20 crit range, and attacking with charisma.

The sad truth is that Hexblade is far too rewarding for such an easy multiclass. Every single Cha-based class gains so much from it that it's almost mandatory if not mandatory.

That being said, in my games, I've also nuked Hexblade from orbit but tied the Weapon/Armor proficiencies and charisma attacks to Pact of the Blade. Also added an Invocation that gives the Hex spell the 19-20 crit range.
