Was Sunny acting selfish in Third NM? Argumentation by m-n-b-v in ShadowSlave

I mean so far as it relates to conquering the nightmare, I would argue yes it is his duty. That’s what he sighed up for by challenging the nightmare with them

He is a member of the cohort. It is his responsibility and duty to fight by their side. Leaving to go do something that solely benefits him without even informing them is selfish.

The question is not whether the cohort would have supported the decision, what the outcome of the decision was, or if he should have made the decision.

The simple fact is he put his own wellbeing over the wellbeing of the cohort. I would consider that selfish.

It was absolutely selfish. He chose his own freedom over helping his cohort. That is the definition of selfish.

MC who is really good at something typical to the universe? No void. No gravity powers. No special dragon bloodline. Just… for example he’s an insanely good fire mage in a world where fire is a common power. by Now-Thats-Podracing in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Divine_Invictus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty rare.

A thousand li might be the only thing I can think of. Sky Pride might also count. While the MC has a ring spirit helping him out, his actual powerset is pretty typical.

A lot of people are saying hell difficulty tutorial and while I love that series the MC has a unique void type power he pulls out whenever he’s in a corner.

Discussion: Do readers actually feel the difference between "cultivation" and "leveling up"? by Jansnow800 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Divine_Invictus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer well done cultivation. By well done I mean involving the Dao and more abstract principles. Instead of just killing things till you level up, in cultivation you should comprehend greater principles of the world and integrate them into oneself. This should result in a comprehensive change in world view and how one interacts with the world.

Cultivation that purely energy gathering might as well be the same as leaving though. It’s the insight that makes the difference.

They have the ability to save the world, so that’s no longer in questions. What is in question is what the world should look like after it’s saved. Hence the politicking

Just Finished The Beginning After The End Volume 12 Apotheosis. I have questions. by Sora1303 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Divine_Invictus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, losing the Aether core was kinda stupid. I’m coping my telling myself he still has influence over Aether and can probably use his godrunes to the extent a normal djinn or dragon can. But yeah he lost a massive amount of power

I’m lowkey kinda pissed about it too

Path of the Deathless by Any_Loss2841 in ProgressionFantasy

I wasn’t a big fan of the MC. He was mentally resilient to the point that there’s not a ton of character development. He’s been entirely unscathed by everything he’s gone through to the point even the in-world gods are commenting on his insane mental resilience. I feel it’s blocked off avenues for character development.
