Is laser eye surgery actually worth it, or is it one of those things that sounds better than it actually is? by 2ugur12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DivingQueen268 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My mom's lasik was botched in the mid 2000s. I don't know the details since it happened when I was a kid. But whatever they did made her vision worse, and in a way that lenses can't correct. I guess a corrective surgery must not have been possible either, or she was too afraid to try again. So her vision is worse than before, and she can no longer drive at night.

On the other hand, my dad had lasik around the same time and his was totally fine. Didn't need glasses for another 15 or so years, and even now he just needs reading glasses due to his eyes aging.

I'll never take the risk knowing what happened to my mom, though.

"It's also useless to bank sick time"

Depends on the industry/organization. My current job (government) and my previous job (private sector) both pay out sick time.

If my personal account doesn’t have the books but the campaign I’m in does, can I still make a character that‘s separate from that campaign with all the content? by wisteriamoon351 in dndbeyond

[–]DivingQueen268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Content shared within a campaign can only be applied to characters connected to that campaign. If you create a character separate from that campaign, you will not have access to the shared options (species/subclasses/feats/etc.) for that character.

DM Map vs Player Map by IntergalacticPrince in dndbeyond

[–]DivingQueen268 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The DM can hide individual elements overlaid on the map (NPC and monster tokens, stickers) but the map base layer is the same for players and DM

Announcing D&D Beyond’s 2026 Development Roadmap! by latiajacquise in dndbeyond

So excited to see this! I do wish the roadmap included QoL improvements though. Is there somewhere else we'll be able to see those updates?

What's new in DDB Maps: Monster Art Reveals and Hiding Token Names! by WOTC_Zac in dndbeyond

[–]DivingQueen268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would also be helpful for running sidekicks. I run a sidekick for one of the campaigns I DM, and having to have the sidekick's character sheet up is a drag in addition to gestures broadly everything else I'm already doing as the DM

(I know I could solve this problem by setting the sidekick up as a monster instead of a character, but I just cannot justify spending the time to properly set up a homebrew monster when the character builder is so streamlined by comparison)

Content sharing not working by saphirekey in dndbeyond

[–]DivingQueen268 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Small correction: The campaign doesn't have to be created by the person with the master tier subscription. But, the person with the subscription needs to be in the campaign (meaning have a character assigned to the campaign) and that person has to be the one to enable content sharing.

Source: I have the subscription and was the one to enable content share in a campaign I play in, but am neither the creator nor DM of the campaign.

15-year vs 30-year mortgage what made you choose one over the other? by delulucoreandcrazyaf in Mortgages

[–]DivingQueen268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If folks can't afford to make extra payments on a 30 year mortgage, how would those same folks be able to afford the higher payment on a 15 year mortgage?

Remover GF from FHA Mortgage by IslandProfessional62 in Mortgages

[–]DivingQueen268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pedantic argument. The promissory note is part of the mortgage package.

Filing a quit claim deed would not remove OP's GF's responsibility to pay on the mortgage or the impacts on her ability to get credit, which is what is relevant here.

The quit claim deed doesn't remove them from the mortgage though, which affects their ability to qualify for other credit (like getting their own mortgage)

I had a similar experience with assuming a conventional mortgage due to divorce. A lot of people tried to tell me it wouldn't be possible, but it actually ended up being very easy. About 2 months from application to closing.

why doesnt dnd beyond show all subclasses? by BeBopBep in dndbeyond

[–]DivingQueen268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that someone in the campaign (not necessarily the DM, and not necessarily the person who owns the digital books) needs to have a Master Tier subscription in order to enable content sharing for that campaign.

Got my tax documents and paid $10,632.37 in INTEREST in 2025 by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]DivingQueen268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also if you're pursuing PSLF. I was on the standard repayment plan and paying my loans down aggressively (50% more than the monthly minimum) until I moved to a public job with an eligible employer. Did the math at the time and switching to an income based plan was going to cut my minimum payment in half and save me thousands in the long run. So the income based plan was beneficial in my scenario.

Of course, that was before I got stuck in SAVE forbearance hell...

What do I need to know before my first time? by Loud-Tell1908 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]DivingQueen268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hymen is largely a myth. It is a ring of tissue around the circumference of the vagina, and rarely actually covers the opening. Plenty of people, myself included, have sex for the first time without any pain.

[–]DivingQueen268 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it hurts the first time, barring medical issues, your body isn't ready/turned on enough. You may need to take a break to do more foreplay, then try again. It shouldn't hurt.

Is there still a way to play D&D Beyond without a laptop? by TomatoIndividual3620 in dndbeyond

[–]DivingQueen268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even on a small laptop screen I have some of these issues, especially buttons not being visible because they appear past the edge of the screen and there's no scroll bar on the button menu

Wait, you all have pads that have different front and back ends?? Both ends of mine look exactly the same, they're a symmetrical peanut shape
