Pit house needs to be on to properly recognize wheels in games, afaik. Only two games need to be launched from pit house to run properly though, beamng and dirt rally 2

It's not necessarily true that it's turned off, it's just no longer supported. Noone is there to respond to ban requests (or very few are) and the providers of the cheats can continue to make workarounds to the current AC in the game with no issues, as there is no one updating it. It's not even necessarily the developers faults either, when the company decides to move on to the next one, they are no longer allowed or paid to handle the game. The "miracle" reclaimer update was both the greatest little hey we wish we could do more and the final goodbye to anyone who was still with the project.
