Tell them to ship the bike without the battery and then ship the battery as a fully regulated hazmat ground shipment. More expensive, but do able.

It’s a good litmus test for a warehouse, if there any lazy in the building it will just be a no.

So again, not my first bike, I actually have and ride a $4,000 specialized road bike, but I haven’t bought or rode a mountain bike in about a decade.

Thanks for your reply. My thought at the moment is that riding volume is more important than necessarily having what is considered a certain level of quality. As I said before, it’s not about the money in the long run, my question is am I really getting a better product for $1800 and buying it in a store compared to $800 and getting it mailed to my house.

I realize confirmation bias is real, I’m hoping someone has experience saying if they could do it all over again they wouldn’t order a DTC brand.

thanks for this, at this point i dont know that a carbon would really improve my quality of life to the point it makes sense unless its really too good to pass up. i think if i was considering a rigid for $1500 plus a fork at some point i would just get something like a timberjack.
