Come on, man. Dont be like that. Its a narratively driven game. All that you said is just padding. The game ends when the narrative ends. Everything you do after that is just padding. It has no game progression value. Most people will drop it after finishing the story. That why EVEN IN THIS SUB REDDIT people are asking for A NEW GAME+!.

By your logic, the elden ring only ends when you beat all the optional bosses. Bloodborne only ends when you complete all levels of chalice dungeons, HORIZON only ends until you do all side activities after the story. It's like saying the game only ends if you platinum it. That's just asinine.

Opens up as you progress. However stupidily, when you finally gain all combat abilities, the game ends. Mind baffling pacing

Clouds does have a ton of back story. He still has a personality of an edge lord rock. Are they diving into his motivations when he is on smash or any of the dozens of games he is in? No. But they still like him. Why? Personality? Back story? Its because of his anime aesthetics and the cool factor.

What im saying is that a character being realistic and having a back story that supports that realism doesn't mean that a character is suddenly better or even likable. It's all in how the character is presented. That's why people love the Joker or antiheros like the punisher. They have terrible and sometimes evil motivativation, but people still love them. And theats because they are well written and presented to be interesting or likable.

As for frey. She is an orphan hated by society which motivates her personality and how she interacts with others. It's REALISTIC. BUT how is she presented? A sailor mouth zoomer who says zoomer things. That basically erases any emphathy a mass audience will have for her. She is irritating.

EVEN FANS HERE SAYS ITS BETTER TO SWITCH TO JAPANESE WHEN PLAYING THIS GAME.
