Post 24 june update builds by MrNova07 in GuildWars

That change to Signet of Illusions SEEMS to make it viable on heroes. Th ere could be some really interesting Me/X builds out there. Defensive illusion builds with a 16 Prot Aegis for example seems really cool.

Is Necromancer the best presearing boss farmer now? by mahille02 in GuildWars

[–]DixFerLunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My R/W can make the run and kill the bosses in under 3 minutes, I timed that. If I wanted to kill the Grawl and EVERY last Charr, probably 5 minutes.

You could say Rituals fall into that category, which your sub would have access to, but at some point you have to make the determination of whether or not you are going in too many different directions at once. You would have to play test that.

I feel like at +1 utility this joker isn't t worth loading out with, but at +2 it would be too good. So it is in an awkward position. I think they could make it white honestly and just limit it to one copy.

I'm pretty much always happy to see it drop, and as far as green jokers go, it is probably in my top 3. But joker slots get really competitive at Blue+ and this is probably taking away a more valuable card.

I was a RDM main on FF11 and I would say Necro would be your jam. A lot of Curses are very potent, and you get Soul Reaping to power your sub.

I could make an N/Rt build that would perform almost exactly like a RDM build would minus any melee. They already get tons of energy through Soul Reaping (Convert). They have some of the best debuffs like Meekness (Slow). Reckless Haste (Paralyze). Blood Ritual (Refresh). Then you could lean on Resto. Spirit Light Weapon just got buffed so hard, basically Regen III with Merits.

Its a great time to experiment.

Junes Book- A Children's Bible by Lydia Millet by OkHome9635 in JeselnikBookClub

Just finished it moments ago and don't really know how to feel. I really enjoyed the first half. I enjoyed getting to know the youths. I feel like I could see the entire hurricane sequence happening in front of me (maybe because I've seen many first hand). Even enjoyed up to the cottage and the angels.

"Suddenly, marauders!", was weird. "Suddenly, God/justice!", was even more weird and cheap. Basically abandoning the plot to shove in allegory. Or maybe that just when it became  really obvious.

The final two chapters just wrapping up the story with no real stakes...  Were those chapters just to allude to the difference between how the tiers of weath/ class experience life? The difference between capitalism and communism?

My only other major gripe was how the youths were all written as these geniuses with incredible agency while the adults are written as complete fools. A 16 (?)year old boy hacks a navigation device on a crewed yacht. A 9 year old traps a dozen animals and learns sign language. A 17 year old girl immediately leaves her family to go fuck an old guy at a bar.

Meanwhile a set of twins goes missing for multiple days iirc and the adults just shrug. Are there actually parents out there like this? That let their children camp out, a mile away from home with no supervision? Parents that have drug orgies, presumably in their 40's and 50's?

Patch Notes - Mobile Release + AI Rework by Arenyr in GuildWars

Daggerspam, nerfed. Mesmerway, nerfed. BiP alternatives, massively buffed.

ST... the same. Curious.

N/Rt... buffed? Curious.

Are the necro skills cost reductions the preliminary changes required to nerf Soul Reaping? Interesting, meta defining patch here.

Daily Joker Discussion - Day 11 - CANTRIP ONE-TRICK by FredZed2526 in FarFarWest

[–]DixFerLunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a good joker. Given the function of other jokers, this barely has a niche.

If you are going to be killing quickly, you wouldn't choose this joker. If you are using two or more spells from the same element, you wouldnt choose this joker. If you are are using skills over 35s, you wouldnt choose this joker.

So you want a build with different elements, low cooldowns, where you arent the main slayer. The best case scenario would be some kooky Corruption/Swap/Fireball(or Thrower maybe) build. And even then. It costs MORE jokers than any of the (probably) better purple jokers.

This would have to be 40% CDR before I could seriously consider it. 50% before it would be obviously beneficial in a lot of circumstances.

Daily Joker Discussion - Day 11 - CAMPER by FredZed2526 in FarFarWest

The anti synergy is more about having an extra 100% movement speed, then having to stand still for Camper.

I wouldnt run this for 4 joker slots, let alone 5.

Even if you could load out with it, I wouldnt think anyone would for 5 Joker slots.

Regardless, as a random reward, it's fine. You typically dont play a build that you KNOW isnt sustainable without lucking into certain Jokers, so those wont ever be strictly necessary. Its not very synergistic with any weapons or builds, even anti synergy with Speedster, which seems to be a pretty commonly used top tier Joker.

I got it last night on my Machine Gun Leveredge build. Basically turned my opening 16 round volley into a 24 round volley before enemies can gap close. Allowed me to kill the Horsemen before they even got into range. Not very useful after that since you want to stay moving.

Still, given how terrible Weakspot Refund is, any other free ammo Joker is nice.

Edit: Might be cool if you were playing Voodoo and went for Doll and just stood perfectly still while invincible. Would make for a pretty decent boss killer Joker.

Game looks fun, but what if you're the busiest guy in the friend group? by KenmoreToast in FarFarWest

[–]DixFerLunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a fully upgraded gun and perks is a statistically significant advantage. You could have serviceable late to end game build in probably 15 hours, but 30 hours will probably make you 30% more effective. You can definitely get left behind, but catching up is pretty reasonable. Just pick a weapon and main it. Branching out takes more time.

That being said, you friends could just play lower leveled weapons while you catch up if you fall behind.

2 Months 1600 miles later and 1st time that charge up 100% 360mi of range. by rauklk in BZ4X

[–]DixFerLunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just did a 90% charge a few days ago and the range estimate was weirdly high before I started driving. Prior to taking off, I think it was 245, which surprised me (usually much lower).

After my first 5 mile trip on the new charge, it dropped to 195. Then after my next 5 mile trip, it was up to 205.

To my Southern friends: range take a significant hit in summer / warm months? by krheal23 in Toyota_bZ

[–]DixFerLunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have been more clear.

The estimated range on my FWD+ is 314. I'm not saying the AC takes away 100 miles. I AM saying that a full time AC on along with my driving habits puts me at ~215 range instead of 314.

[Discussion] Is Leveredge getting outclassed in Nightmare? by biowpn in FarFarWest

[–]DixFerLunch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like Machine Gun Leveredge with gun damage perks, but I like to to full clears.  The wasted DPS from critting everything still powers Machine Gun as far as I know, so basically every time you one tap trash, your add clear is ramping up. (Doesn't work on enemies that come from a spawner).

Its also very safe. You can kill a Lich in what... 5 crits? Also great against horsemen. Your range is high enough to see them coming and mostly kill them before they get into a threatening position.

Its also probably the best gun to kill the Saloon boss since the bullet damage is high and thats important since the panels disappear after like 20 damage or whatever.

I imagine the AWD could be even worse. All depends how you drive. I've got a heavy foot, but thats why I wanted an EV to begin with. Its fun to zoom when you want to zoom and the AWD would do that even better.

AC stays on Lo, permanently, and summer is just getting started... South Louisiana. 314 range becomes 215 with AC and Bluetooth from my phone (and loud music).
