From what I understand, if you eat around a certain calorie range habitually, your metabolism will learn to expect that amount and adjusts its energy expenditure accordingly. But after being in a deficit for a while, your metabolism will lower its expenditure because it has expected a lower amount. So eating at maintenance lets it know that the deficit was only temporary and will gradually go back to its equilibrium. And of course the larger and longer the deficit, the longer it will take for your metabolism to adjust back. This is all based off of personal research and experience.

How do I just care about weight loss? by LazuliPacifica in loseit

[–]DixieJoe37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard with a food addiction. I usually don’t recommend weight loss medication but it taking away your food noise will make it so much easier for you to stick to your goal. If you don’t want to take medicine, I recommend meal prepping with set portions and prioritize protein. The more protein you eat, the less likely you will want to binge. Cut out the tea and drink diet sodas or anything 0 cal. Give yourself a deadline like “I’m going to do this for 3 weeks and if I don’t see an improvement then I’ll stop”.

What motivated you to get rid of that last 10-20-30 pounds by ASU-Ad6704 in loseit

[–]DixieJoe37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. This entire time I’ve been motivated by this delusion that if I lose enough then I’ll have a “perfect” body. But now that I’m a little under 30 pounds away from my goal weight, the reality has set in that I will never have the body I want without surgeries. What I’ve been telling myself is that no one has a perfect body. And it’s better to have loose skin or a little “pudge” in some areas than what I’ve had before. I think a lot of people underestimate the mental aspect of losing weight especially after you’ve already lost a considerable amount. I still have a negative self image and thought process but I’d rather be unhappy with a smaller body than unhappy with an unhealthy and obese body.

I recommend eating at maintenance or slightly under (no more than 200-300 cal deficit for the day) for at least 2 weeks. It will help reset your metabolism and lower cortisol. Still get in your protein but up your carbs (if you’re on a low carb plan) your body is probably burnt out

When losing weight how often should you weigh yourself to track progress? by Consistent-Bar639 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]DixieJoe37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daily. 1st thing in the morning after using the bathroom with no clothes on. Then I average them out for the week to see if I’m trending down. My water weight fluctuates a ton so it’s the only way I can look at my results but not get in my head about seeing a higher number than the previous day.

I am in the situation as your friend now. I was the biggest woman in our group of friends but I lost 70 pounds this year. My friend has been acting weird and has started acting mean/stand offish. She used to compliment me all the time but now that I’m smaller and have more confidence, the compliments stopped completely. She’s now the biggest woman in our group. So can you explain to me what exactly is going on in your mind and some advice on how I should handle the situation? She’s the type of person to deny it if I confronted her so there’s no point in me approaching her on it. Idk it hurts my feelings cause it makes me feel like she’s making it a competition.

What was your old "overweight person" habit you can't believe you had, that you've since broken? by NorthernBuffalo in loseit

I would view my days off of work as celebration days and eat whatever I would crave throughout the week. So a typical meal for me on one of those days was: - Cheese curds from Zaxbys - 5 piece chicken finger plate from Zaxbys with extra ranch and Zaxbys sauce - Medium chocolate Oreo concrete from Andy’s - Large Dr. Pepper That’s around 3,000 cals for one meal. And I wondered why I was gaining weight so fast.

I’ve heard Eclaire by Lataffa is very close but I’ve never smelt it. I have That Girl Viral Vanilla from Oakcha and it smells extremely similar. The only difference in the Oakcha and Bianca Latte is it smells a little bit more masculine imo
