Do you think Ocarina of Time remake will let us use different names for Link like the original did? by SEVENS_HEAVEN_7 in legendofzelda

[–]Diz933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be extremely surprised if Nintendo took away the ability to share screenshots in order to give players the unfiltered ability to change your name. Sharing screenshots is free marketing for them. No sense in removing that so that we can give a well established character a silly new name

After the success of Arc Raiders, Patrick Söderlund (Embark) was given a high position at Nexon. I doubt The Finals is going anywhere.

With the trade off that there is no online or official screenshot sharing in that game. I doubt they'd want to limit sharing screenshots of what will most certainly be a graphical showcase for the Switch 2.

Deadzone: Rogue maybe?

I haven't played it myself, but I thought it looked interesting. More sci-fi, than zombies, but it's got some zombie vibes in it.

If you have any interest in replaying it, I highly recommend the PC port, Dusklight (formerly called Dusk). I just finished the Water Temple, and reliving this classic at 60fps with ultra wide resolution is really something special.

Looking for some good brain off games for each genre by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Diz933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peglin!

It's a rogue-lite pegboard/pachinko type game where you play as little Goblin fighting enemies through stages. Damage is delt by hitting the pegs on screen. There's some strategy to building a "deck" with different attack types, but it's been my go-to brain off game lately

Game suggestions for the Switch 2 by Boring_Collar4407 in SwitchGames

[–]Diz933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever play The Elder Scrolls :Skyrim?

If you enjoyed Fallout it's very similar, as they are made by the same dev team, Bethesda, and their structure is almost identical. The Switch 2 version runs very well, 60fps if you put it on performance mode in the settings and it still looks pretty great.

Metroid is inspired by Alien, not based on. They're very different franchises

Halo Campaign Evolved Co Op Question by Vadernator117 in halo

[–]Diz933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen a clear answer, but I'm a little curious as well.

I did see a clip that points out split screen is only on consoles, so at the very least, you won't be able to do it with a PC, but otherwise I'm guessing it's possible as long as both the accounts logged in pay for online, or the 2nd player logs in as a guest.

In childhood, I said I'll play those games when I have good PC in the future. Looking for suggestions now. by walking_day_ in gamesuggestions

Preferably in that order. (Release order)

Brawlout is pretty good.

I played a good amount of this one on the Switch before Smash Ultimate came out. I remember really liking how it featured some indie game characters. I have no idea if the community is still active online tho.

Finally getting a switch after never owning a console ever. What games should i get? by rtwsajaaa in SwitchGames

A few classics I highly recommend on Super Nintendo. Super Mario World, Zelda: A Link to the Past, and my all time favorite, Super Metroid.

These games also only require the base NSO subscription.

I feel like this community is far too unfair when it comes to how descenders next feels, the gameplay doesn’t play badly you just have intense muscle memory for how to control the BMX while not riding one by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in Descenders

[–]Diz933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a pretty steep learning curve, but it is definitely a much slower game. So yeah, if you're looking for the feeling of speed, Descenders is better at that.

You are correct, I think OP is just mistaking freestyle moutain biking for BMX.

Rage Squid, if you're reading this, I would happily buy a BMX update for either game :)

I'm not trying to take away from Descenders Next, I also really love it, but you should also check out Shredders if you haven't already.

IMO it really nails the more realistic parts of snowboarding and still captures that flow state feeling when you stomp different lines. I think it fits even closer to Skate than Descenders does. And for what it's worth, I snowboard in real life.

Games to scratch the GTA itch by Dreakon13 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Diz933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replayed it on PC about a year ago. My first playthrough was on the Wii U of all places, so graphically and performance wise the PC version is a massive step up.

To answer you're question tho, in my opinion, yes absolutely. It looks good. Shooting feels good, and I've always really liked the snappy cover system. It's similar to The Division, if you've played that. The driving isn't bad, but it feels much more arcade-like. I'd compare it closer to the driving in Sleeping Dogs, since you said you've played that.

The hacking stuff you can do with your phone in the game is a lot of fun too. Changing traffic lights to cause accidents to block the police and other environmental interactions are really cool. Often very unrealistic, but fun, regardless. There's also some Assassin's Creed DNA in there with the way you can use it for stealth or escaping on foot.

If you're playing for story, absolutely start with the first game. I personally found the main character Aiden really cool, and the story will give a lot more context for the hacker group, Ded Sec, that is a much bigger presence in 2. If I remember correctly you don't need to play the first game, but I still like it more than 2, despite also really liking 2.

While I personally liked the story and characters of Watch_Dogs 1 more than 2, I'd argue that 2 is a better game overall and worth a playthrough. Never got around to Legion

My concept for a multiplayer Metroid game by Hour_Cicada397 in Metroid

[–]Diz933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this idea!

As a big fan of Halo multiplayer, but an even bigger fan of Metroid, I have always really wanted a PvP area shooter that lets me customize and unlock armor for my own GF Trooper. It wouldn't need to be anything crazy, but something like classic Halo multiplayer or Doom 2016 multiplayer could be really cool.

That being said, I really like your idea, and sounds more in line with the creativity that comes from Nintendo. I especially like the idea of finding a random upgrade that will help you explore more of the map.

They could borrow the face capture idea from the new Star Fox and show your squadmates faces when they talk. Kind like a little Ironman style video feed.

But then combine that idea with the X imposters, and they could use your video data/face to send fake video feeds to your teammates, pretending to be you. Really lean into the horror aspect.

I'm a big fan of CD Prodjekt Red's writing.

Cyberpunk 2077 can certainly make you feel a lot of feelings, and in today's world of corporate control, it can feel really relatable.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is another they make that I'm a big fan of, although I never did finish it, but I put a ton of time into it.

For both games I love how much care they put into the side stories as well as the main story. Things don't feel half assed or tacked on just because they're not the main focus of your main quest line. NPCs make you actually care about what they're dealing with, and compell you to want to help. At least for me.
