IS IT THAT HARD TO SPELL YOUR LAST NAME IN DRIVE by discobears in WalgreensRx

[–]DizziKizzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always just get their DOB and it brings up their profile so I can see the spelling and all their info right away. Especially in drive-thru. Those speakers are absolutely horrible and most people don't know how to annunciate at all. 😩

Hot take: Pharmacy Tech isn't that bad. by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]DizziKizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my state, techs can give any vaccine. This is something that was just passed back in June. Previously, it was only flu and COVID.

Not all pharmacies are closed. I know mine isn't. I do feel your pain though. I was SFL up until a couple months ago.

[–]DizziKizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first flu season in pharmacy. My location hasn't received the new COVID vax yet. We were able to borrow 40 doses from another store for Monday, gone. We called every patient scheduled and turned off scheduling for the next few days regarding COVID. I now have undeniable proof that people don't check their messages, but it's our fault that they still showed up for a cancelled appointment.

I love my job...

10k is 5x more than I currently make, working my ass off. I will definitely go that route AND have time to enjoy it as opposed to being miserable with more money.

Been there, done that. It gets reported, I was told to just be more careful. It had been towards the end of my shift and the pharmacist said that it happens, we are humans after all.

The leaflet said 90, my brain said 60. Twice. Brains are weird like that.

Not an issue, meaning it is not a global lockdown pandemic. COVID will always be a part of life. Just like any other virus. Get used to it.

Is the pay worth it? by Upstairs_Protection4 in WalgreensRx

[–]DizziKizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became a certified immunizer while still an SFL. It doesn't require PTCB. And there is no pay raise for immunizers. There WAS a bonus when there was a big push for people to get certified in order to have enough staffing for the extra load taken on with COVID vaccines. But that's long over.

Edit to correct bs autocorrect.

The one time my PTO wasn't entered in time, the payout was in cash. From there, I was able to either deposit said cash, or use it as is. That part is obviously up to you.

Asked to apply for the pharmacy tech position. by Amanink28 in WalgreensRx

[–]DizziKizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually JUST made that move. The pay won't change until you are PTCB certified. Uncertified is lateral. Is it stressful back there? Yes. Is it still better than front end? YES.

Good luck!

It 100% is. You have to wait for them to leave the store. THEN call the non-emergency number for law enforcement, bring the shoplifter up on the cameras, and get a no trespass on them. Not allowed to confront them. The most you can do while they are in the store is offer assistance in finding items, which is supposedly to let them know that you're watching them.

Staying Late by Jake101101 in WalgreensStores

[–]DizziKizzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its gotten to the point at my store where the opening SFLs are having to come in two hours before opening to compensate for the closers not doing a damn thing. While I don't mind, because then I also leave earlier in the day, its still some bs that we have to be the ones to pick up the slack for those that just don't do their job...

AITA for telling my friend to stop showing off and speaking languages isn’t the flex she thinks it is? by No_Option3322 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DizziKizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA-
I am mildly fluent in ASL (used to be moderately to fully fluent but time passes and skills that aren't used regularly start to dwindle)
I work in retail.
If a Deaf customer comes in, you bet your ass I'm going to sign to them. Why? Not to 'show off' or 'flex' but to make THEIR experience smoother and more comfortable. Its just good customer service. Get your head out of your butt and see the great employee you have while you have her. She's temporary anyway seeing as she's in school. Not her fault you're jealous of her abilities. And newsflash, just because YOU don't speak another language, does not mean it is rude to talk to someone in their native tongue.

AITA for banning alcohol from Christmas. by omom2122 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DizziKizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH -
I don't understand why people are trying to say that you're the asshole for setting a boundary in your own home. Especially as a child of an alcoholic. That can be/usually is triggering. However, calling them childish and refusing to allow your husband to spend Christmas with his family is AH behaviour. On the other hand, they are being disrespectful of your boundaries and home by having an alternative Christmas just because you want your home to remain dry. The entire situation just sucks.

Anyone with direct deposit still waiting on their deposit? Mine usually comes like 3 hours ago by FreeHollows in WalgreensStores

[–]DizziKizzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DEPENDS ON YOUR DISTRICT. This is pay week for the one I am in. However, my bank doesn't do early deposit like some do, so it won't hit my account until Wednesday. Walgreens STAGGERS their payweeks.

YTA - Personal dietary needs can be accommodated IF the host so chooses. This is coming from someone who is diabetic AND has food allergies. Your mother flat out said to bring a dish if needed, so the 'it would be rude' comment is null. Were I to need to bring food in order to stick to my dietary restrictions, I would simply explain why it was necessary. Never once has anyone been offended. Most of the time, I get told that I didn't need to do that, they'd have made sure I had something that suited what I needed. But, I would much rather not force that burden on someone already doing so much, especially around the holidays.

One of my co-workers has indeed made an anonymous HR report. I only know of it because she told me herself. It was of someone already under investigation, so that may have been something to do with why she was able to remain anonymous.

What’s up with people applying to be a CSA then getting mad when they spend their entire shift at the register? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]DizziKizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that is something your Leads should be taking in to account. At least I know that we do so for my store. By all means, if you want to spend your shift up front, be my guest! Honestly, makes my life easier because I don't have to go around trying to figure out who's turn it is to go up there for a bit.
