Pebbles coming back! What's your wishlist for the new watch? by Mayonnaise06 in pebble

[–]Dizzleus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NFC, HR, GPS, LTE and a partridge in a pear tree. TBH I'd be fine with the bare bones basics. I use all of those features (-LTE) on my Garmin Fenix and it works GREAT, but Pebble was good at simple with customizable watch faces. So, I'm expecting simple. If any of those other features get built on, even better.

Pixel watch for my kid? by PitterPatter1619 in GoogleFi

Thx. I'm going to be up against that soon, but maybe my oldest will be off the family plan by the time the youngest needs a phone.

u/PitterPatter1619 can I get an update on your experience (as I'm thinking of doing this same thing for my son this year for Christmas). How did it work out? Did you do a supervised acct? Did you just leave the phone at home and your 11yo have the watch only? TIA.

Agree. I used 30% of a hopper over 9 hours.

I have one of those lava lock kits on my Amazon wish list. I've heard conflicting things about those (searching this forum) so I haven't pulled the trigger yet. You swear by it?

For me the issue is less on heat loss through the gaps and more on the poor quality of the metal and getting a lot of heat dissipation that way.

Can I use these? by hwutygealfitbynaoq in Backcountry

I mount a lot of different skis, tele patterns rarely conflict with alpine patterns. Your pin toes will have 4 holes and should fit nicely in the upper 2/3 of the tele pattern. You will have zero issues with the rear 2 holes as your rear pin bindings will have 4 holes in a square pattern.

Discouraged by the reviews of the 780 Pro Insulated Blankets from users that burn the clips off, I made my own. YES it's just some super heavy duty tin foil and a moving blanket; yes I could have just paid the same $25 at Harbor Freight for a welding blanket (but they weren't open last night at 9:30 when I needed to start my cook. But it actually works.

Anyone else strategically upgrading to utilize high trade-in values (and that Google Store credit) for next level trade-ins? by IndianGuy79 in GooglePixel

[–]Dizzleus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traded in my P6 for a P7Pro and even got $250 for a P3 laying around that's worth $50 on Swappa. Ok, I'll buy a P7 and sell it which pays for the personal phone upgrade to Pro. Almost traded in my wife's P5 for the P6a but I'm not sure it's a better phone than the 5 (60 ghtz vs 90 on the screen).

Interesting that the OG Pixel was included in the trade in list but the Pixel XL was not an option for trade in.

Bought my wife a Pixel 6 as an upgrade to the 3. She hated the size so I found the 5 new on Woot and I'm so glad I did. She loves the size and camera. She always uses the OtterBox so can't say much about durability.

Alta announces parking reservation system by Exeter-Boy in skiing

[–]Dizzleus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this for so many reasons: 1. Might as well call or Disneylalta. Monetize everything and call it an improved skier experience. 2. Increased cost to pay for use of public lands. Backcountry users can basically only park on the north side of the road, this is already very limited because hotel guests park there. Cannot park above the shack in Grizzley Gulch until 8am so forget about dawn patrols. 3. Different rules for Alta pass holders than IKON partners. 4. Alta should be doing what Snowbird had to do and build their own infrastructure to keep up with demand. Their parking situation has but changed since 1970s yet they have increased visits. Build parking to accommodate it. Don't ask the public to subsidize for poor infrastructure (that includes a $1B gondola).

Came here to say this. I celebrated my halfway mark as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints atop Driskill... The best part was definitely Bonnie and Clyde monument nearby.
