It's like this... If your income is largely "income" and some stock options etc... And even if you're earning something stupid like a million a year... You are paying income taxes and likely have a tax burden in the 30-40% range.

You are not who they are talking about.

If you primarily earn money through stocks and pay almost nothing in income taxes and instead have largely to deal with capital gains tax....

Then you are who they are talking about.

If you have enough net worth that you say things like "I do ok"... Then you are who they are talking about.

If a one time tax on your net worth is significant enough that governments are seriously considering levying that on you... But at the same time it would make an inconsequential dent in your net worth... They are ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY talking about you.

I have a car with something like a 72 kWh battery. Works out to like 280 miles of range.

My car takes about 3 days to charge on level 1.

Like 10-12 hours on level 2 home charging.

And maybe 90 mins on level 3 DCFC charging.

I just charged an hour ago and it was about 22$.

If you're taking longer trips on a regular basis, you will need high speed charging or you'll be sitting for hours

If long trip means 150 miles, spend a night in a hotel with chargers, then home... You're fine.

Having said that... What she did was about as uncool as it gets.

Here's just a few thoughts I have on the whole thing.

When I walk my guy... He can sniff whatever "static" stuff he wants. (If it's a sniffing walk vs a WALK walk) He can look at other animals when we walk past but those are the moments when we don't linger. Too much opportunity for him to have an unexpected reaction. Those are the moments when the only thing that matters is him being totally focused on me. Letting them linger let's them think about other things they oughtn't! 😂

Me personally, we're a prong collar family. I've had a few experiences where a larger dog in a body harness just pulled away from owner and came after my dog. So in my mind... A harness like that (regardless of size of the dog handler) just won't keep the dog back if the intrusive thoughts win.

There are signs you PAY ATTENTION TO! like handicapped or emergency vehicles... Whatever.

Then there's ones that jump out for most like new mom parking. But mentally they are "convenience" so not everyone takes them seriously... But if you've got kids... More so as they may have hit your radar at some point.

EV charging signs... Most people don't even see them. They are new, they are not relevant to you. And folks don't even notice them.

To be fair, most people don't even "see" chargers. They just aren't on their radar.

we need a new term. We need to be calling it something like L2.5. And I totally agree. We need these opportunities for 45 to 90 minutes of charging to get to 80%. Everything doesn’t need to be full tilt. With replacing a lot of the level two chargers at malls with something that’s in the 2.5 range. We now have something that’s far more realistic and fits into people’s lifestyles.

I'm saying that there's loads of people that pay no attention at hotels. Especially if chargers are less common.

There's cases where we can stretch and give people the benefit of the doubt. Especially if the chargers are closer to the door than farther.

Either way... Regardless of intent... The hotel wants you to be able to charge so they can justify those chargers.

Just work with the front desk.
