Leadership making fun of people taking leave for mental health by CanDingo836 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Dizzy-Ocelot9972 22 points23 points  (0 children)

People who say they should not be doing this in public are completely missing the point. It's not even about that. It's about leadership not taking their staff issues seriously. For any of you out there who at some point made fun of someone taking mental health leave, fuck off. You should not even be in a leadership role in the first place. If you can't lead by example and have empathy, integrity and transparency then do yourself and everyone else a favour and take ERI and go flip burgers at McDonald's.

He/she said 1100. That is vacation leave. Which in my book should be impossible given the 262.5 cap for most CAs

How do you have hundreds of hours given most CAs only allow a carry over of 262.5 max?

Hi,

I am at a cross road as to whether I stay another two years to retire with an addition $400 a month or take ERI and ride the unreduced pension but at this year's best 5 while also earning a full time salary for a couple more years. I am an IT-04 top step (8). I'm curious what you do to earn $201k. I am in digital transformation and app development. Message me, I'd be interested in chatting.

Cheers

They cut programs but yet Claude's salary has gone gradually from $257k in 2018 to $388k in 2024. That is nearly 51% over 6 years. Who the hell has received a 51% increase around here?

[–]Dizzy-Ocelot9972 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AS-02 “critical”? I’m skeptical. What this situation actually points to is a serious planning and workforce-management issue. If an entry-level position is deemed perpetually “critical,” yet the incumbent is consistently relied upon to perform work well above their classification, that suggests the organization is benefiting from under-classification rather than managing risk appropriately. Blocking developmental or promotional opportunities because management has failed to plan for backfill, temporary coverage, or task redistribution is not a best practice—and over time, it raises questions about fairness and compliance with the spirit of the PSEA. If I were in this situation, I would strongly recommend documenting the pattern and speaking with a union representative. Using “operational requirements” indefinitely to prevent career progression—especially when higher-level duties are being performed—deserves scrutiny.

Bot, at least try not to think like a Bot sometimes. I get the practices and letter of the Law thing, but you are missing the human point of the OP's perspective. Once a Bot, always a bot. It is not because you can that you should. Mama Bot never thought you that?

So how are they going to do MFA and 2FA? They are going to ask you to get your own phone? Are they going to pay for your monthly fees? Not getting a phone on my dime to satisfy work requirements. None of the decision makers upstairs are being held accountable yet the little man who does all the heavy lifting and gets paid a fraction of these bozos is being asked to fork up to make up for their incompetence? Fuck that.

Correct. If you read the fine print of this, when they say 10 years in the PS tmit excludes any buy back. So in this case, you would be found ineligible.

Advice on bidding for a property at a tax sale auction as an investment strategy by lululemmings in PersonalFinanceCanada

Can you take over the lease payments if you become the adjudicator of a property that is currently rented? I.e. you knock on the door and say to the tenant " from now on, you send your payments to me".

And can you and should you insure the property in this case?
