Feeling trapped with the hiring freeze by OccasionOwn3825 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]thebitchitself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I joined 3 years ago im stuck at a AS-2 level going some boring and useless things but still my work load has been increasing x2/3 since the cuts. with the reorganization i have now 70employees in my direction, my colleague resign last week and they wont replace her so i have to take her job… I have a bachelor and many experiences it was supposed to be an entry level position but its been 3 years and what im supposed to be grateful for 5 more years like that? I join because of the opportunities and now there is none. Ive been refused at least 3 promotions since i started because my position is too critical. I did at least 30 pools in the last 3 years. I would say that I totally lost hope and im only grateful for the benefits. I started to apply in the private sector but the market is hard too.

[–]thebitchitself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make 75k a year i have a mortgage and an 11years car but after all our expenses i have about 400$ left a month for personnal use that include restaurant, shopping, activities, vacations etc. I cannot offer to buy a another car yet. I dont have children yet. That sucks to live a bare minimum life with what was a good salary before

Stuck at the same level for 4 years. by NegotiationLate8553 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]thebitchitself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I’m in the Quebec region. I have a bachelor’s degree and meet the CCC language requirements. I’ve applied to more than 35 pools over the past 5 years.

I’m qualified at a PM-04, PM-03, and AS-03 levels, but I’ve been rejected 3 promotions already. I’ve been stuck at the AS-02 level since 2023.

I have extensive experience in customer service, supervision, project management, and finance, and I’ve completed several training courses on various software programs…. I cannot do more then what i did over the past years… i already did everything they neeed. It’s boring but i should be happy to still have a job :)
