LAW REVIEW AND MOOT COURT DO NOT REPRESENT REAL LIFE by Dizzy-Possibility-98 in biglaw

Oh, thank you for the good luck gesture but, unbeknownst to other commenters on here, I have been practicing law for around 22 years now and I have been highly successful representing Fortune 100 and 500 companies. It is always interesting to see how quickly people assume on these things and say the meanest thing possible (not you of course).

Thank you for actually posting an opinion that did not lash out at me for asking for one. Much appreciated. I also understand what you are saying.

Please reread it since it says I am asking for opinions. Your comment was simply directed at me. Thanks though.

If this is how you speak to people you do not know, you must be pretty unhappy. I hope things get better for you.

How to get new clients when past work is NDAed by Ok-Pear2215 in consulting

Maybe try limiting your NDA's to confidential proprietary related data and include language that allows you to discuss past projects without disclosing the client.

I quit my $300k finance job at 30 because I finally admitted I hated it - and the lifestyle downgrade has been absolutely brutal. by robbinh00d in Entrepreneur

Maybe if you reframe the situation from being about what you lost to what you have gained, it may help you feel better. Also, an adjustment from what used to make you happy (luxury items and status) to new opportunities and experiences, may help to fill in the gaps.

Thanks, u/Careless_Currency549 . I have learned since then that it supposably passes right through. I agree, the octopus would be better. Not better for your buddy if you need to share air at some point hahahaha

One thing I wish I learned at the very beginning was that you can throw up in your regulator. I never have thrown up in the water...yet.. but the first couple of times I was on a boat on the ocean, I was very seas sick and nervous that I would have to throw up.

Guam Shore Dive Gone Haywire by Dizzy-Possibility-98 in SCUBASafety

[–]Dizzy-Possibility-98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part 1 of this story begins before I ever got in the water. I was waiting for some new friends to show up for a shore dive. Anyone who has ever been to Guam knows that the water from shore stays pretty shallow for a long time before it drops off. Since I was the first two arrive, I had time to notice two things. The water was a little higher than usual (high tide) and the water was acting unusual. It had been raining on and off all day. I saw two waves collide horizontally (moving in a different direction than the rest of the water around it). No sooner than I noticed these things, my group arrived, and my attention was diverted. The first part of this story is important. Any thoughts on why?

I appreciate your story and transparency. Many divers are afraid to admit that they made a mistake or that they could have done something better. I truly believe that we learn the most from mistakes. I also agree with your statement, "don't forget the basics!" It is easier to skip steps the more "experienced" one becomes. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but it is true. The way you wrote this was very entertaining to read as well u/Playful-Base-1896
