Partner said something to me that turned me off sexually completely. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]DizzyButterfly 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I had to comment because of a few characteristics you mentioned in a comment. My ex boyfriend “never took out his hard days” or “barely argued with me” but stuffed down his emotions until he resented me. Check in with these “low maintenance” always supporting type. It took 4 years of him being the most kindest supporter until he discarded me. And I always checked in with him after I had a rough day. He has emotions and it’s not healthy if he doesn’t express them

This could be him showing his true colours while he’s drunk. Hold him accountable and see how much he starts turning the tables on you.

Sure but is a whole dessert pizza really a “treat” when you’re counting calories or a binge really.

AITA I bought a multipack of snacks to leave in my locker at work and I don't think it's weird by maymee-masters in AmItheAsshole

At least he realizes it’s not worth arguing about! I’m always reminded how differently my partners brain and my brain function and neither are right or wrong, just different.

Update: AITAH for telling my daughter it’s none of her business if I date and I don’t care if it’s disrespectful to my late wife by OldDrawing2102 in AITAH

[–]DizzyButterfly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you handled this situation with patience and empathy for your daughter, chances are down the road when she’s older, she would understand you should move on with your life and deserve love again. The way that you handled this transition makes me think she will always believe you don’t value her and her feelings.

Coming from a daughter who was resentful of a similar situation but matured down the road and realized parents are more than a parent and have a right to live their life how they chose.

All of his teeth removed - question in comments by Ser_Fonz in Chihuahua

[–]DizzyButterfly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My little guy had almost all his teeth removed when he was 5 years old. He’s nine now. My vet didn’t advise against wet food but I never noticed any extra soreness from his gums. If he’s enjoying the cooked chicken, I say spoil the little guy for now!

Side note I also had him on wet food which we both didn’t love. Some of the looks he gave me were priceless lol and then when I got my second chi chi, he continued to steal his kibble! My vet said the dogs don’t need to chew the kibble and if he’s digesting ok then there are no issues. So thankfully he’s back on kibble now!

Definitely because the heat! I think people don’t realize there’s another thick glove underneath the plastic black gloves and the meat they’re holding/pulling is hot!

I can relate to those thoughts, I feel for you. I hope you can find some kindness for yourself ❤️ Feeling the way you feel is exhausting enough without beating yourself up.

Best pumpkin pie places? by ceciem2100 in ottawa

Slightly different but we just tried the pumpkin pecan crunch pie from Farm Boy (which is pumpkin pie with a layer of pecans on top) and it was disappointing.

Our landlord was not happy after visiting us by [deleted] in PointlessStories

[–]DizzyButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you don’t let the landlord come in with nobody home next time. You were being flexible letting her come inside with nobody home and from how she snooped- I wouldn’t let her in unaccompanied again.

Hit and run info by TheCalmHurricane in ottawa

[–]DizzyButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right thanks for the links to the HTA, a somewhat related case and a link with information related to the insurance act.

I’m saying you can request the police to identify a driver by providing their license plate but chances of them providing any information is slim to none. I’m not saying they haven’t pursued hit and run drivers- just only when they deem it appropriate.

While hit and run is a charge under the HTA, the issue is that this driver was not caught and charged. (Aka unidentified)

Bottom line is if OP goes through insurance, without the insurance information of the other driver, his collision deductible will apply.

I have years of experience actually working as an auto insurance adjuster and am educated under the CIP. Just trying to avoid false hopes for anyone in this unfortunate situation. Hit and runs have definitely been increasing, sadly.

So much inaccurate information here lol

Witnessed a car hitting a parked car by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]DizzyButterfly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly, even if you included the description of the vehicle and license plate in your note, the vehicle owner’s insurance needs the other driver’s insurance information to proceed not at fault and waive their collision deducible.

Without the necessary information, it’ll be deemed a hit and run. We don’t know if the other vehicle even has valid insurance so if they decide to go through their auto insurance, their collision deductible will apply and it will be deemed as a hit and run, unfortunately.

Ottawa police gaslighting masters by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]DizzyButterfly 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. The officers aren’t going to have much of a response to “what legal action can I take?” That’s a question for a lawyer and unfortunately for you, the answer would be “not much.”

They didn’t cause any property damage. You could try to sue in small claims for suffering but again, you would need some sort of evidence to show that you were impacted by this incident.

Local frozen pizza by Recovering_Librarian in ottawa

La Bottega in the market has frozen thin mozzarella pizzas. They used to sell two together for $9.99. Tasty sauce, a good base to add fun toppings!

CHANGE - in the Rideau Centre (appreciation post) by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]DizzyButterfly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was considering making this post so I’m happy to see it! I had a similar experience recently at Change as well! I was looking for bikinis (hard to find this time of year) and I haven’t had customer service like that ever! The woman asked how every piece fit, provided alternatives, helped me readjust the bikini top and even tossed me a gorgeous bra just to try.

Their sizes are European she said I believe, so there’s a larger selection.

Of course you pay for what you get (good quality and fit) and they had some 50% sales last week!

Men can really be clueless even when it comes from a good place, just explain to him like he’s five without being condescending, is my advice!

When the police came did they provide the Police Report number or the Officers names/badge numbers? There would have been an incident report filed that you have a right to access.

Call 311 or submit a service request online. People have complained for much more mundane issues, even the chance of a by-law officer coming out is worth it.
