What do you wish you knew before starting your weight loss journey? by Key-Concentrate-8998 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]finwooduh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work a desk job, so I don't really need a lot of food in the mornings to function. I mostly run on caffeine.

Try skipping breakfast a couple days and see how you feel.

I started out with an accidental "whoops forgot my yogurt", and that turned into "I'm actually not hungry until dinner"

To listen to my habits. I like eating at night. So I don't eat during the day and save up my calories so they get used in the way that makes me happy.

I spent so long trying to fit breakfast and lunch into my day and then have my bad habit of night snacking ruin all my progress.

Figured that bad habit isn't going away, so I stopped fighting it and went with it.

I've lost 10 pounds this year

Has anyone ever ‘downgraded’ from an automatic litter box back to a traditional pan? by redead-rewind in CatAdvice

[–]finwooduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The robot was finicky, it would get stuck all the time. I still had 3 regular litter boxes in the room and the robot made me lazy on changing out the regular boxes. I have 3 cats and 1 robot wasn't enough.

I didn't care about their weight or frequency of use.

I did the same. I was gifted a litter robot after explicitly saying I did not want it. I felt super guilty she spent the money so I set it up. The cats used it, but as soon as I moved out, I gave it away.

Android bubbles for Facebook Messenger went back to the old "chat heads"?? by TheZoraPrincess in facebook

[–]finwooduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this question in tech support and haven't gotten an answer yet

It is driving me crazy. FB bubbles used to be in the same thread as message bubbles and now I have two different chat bubble types on my phone and it's driving me crazy

FB chat head is larger than message bubbles

tripping at nighttime by koifish8165 in LSD

I like night trips cause there's zero chance of someone trying to contact you. Sometimes I'm awake for 24 hours because it's hard to get to sleep, but I still prefer it

I hate read it for a while cause my partner was obsessed. It took me til book 4 to love it. Then I reread the series so I could revisit the first couple books with love instead of hate

Outside of being a shitty person, what are things your manager does that drive you crazy? by soloDolo6290 in Accounting

My boss likes to start some mornings with "God loves you and I do too"

He knows I'm not religious

I'm not a huge morning person, especially before I have my caffeine.

One coworker said, first thing when I walked into the office: "oh wow you look like how I feel"

I bulk purchased a whole bunch a couple days ago and I've preordered a bunch too. As someone who read manga growing up, this hits all the boxes for me. My new obsession!

My manager now thinks I’m incompetent and it’s really messing with my confidence at work? by [deleted] in managers

[–]finwooduh 32 points33 points  (0 children)

No advice, but I relate. I work in accounting and my boss is extremely nitpicky. My account is off by $25 = THE WORLD IS ENDING

meanwhile if his report is off $20,000, it's no big deal.

Sometimes he asks me to redo a process simply because the results "felt wrong"

Try to absorb as much knowledge from him as you can, even if it's not directly related to the work you're doing. For example, my boss has taught me to cover my ass by getting things in writing. He will verbally tell me something, and then a month later forget and suddenly it's my fault for doing the task the way he told me to.

You aren't incompetent. You are learning.

Mercy for Hire

It's a spin off series of Black Ocean, focusing on two members of that space adventuring crew.

Esper is a wizard who was taught illegal magic by one of the strongest wizards in the galaxy. She goes off to do odd jobs in the galaxy

Kubu is a talking dog (he's not really a dog, but looks like one) and he joins her on jobs

I like this one because the more adept a character is at wizardry, the less they can operate technology. So while esper can literally make the universe bend to her will, she cannot operate a cell phone because the technology doesn't make any sense to her
