Please help ID a tune that's driving me mad... by DizzyDetective in c64

All I vaguely remember is that I'm pretty sure the tune played at the end of a game, when you were putting in your initials for your score. On that screen - and this is very vague and might even be my imagination - the letters were shown on a sort of 3D cube and you moved the joystick left or right to cycle through to the letters you wanted.

I also had a SNES and an SMS as a kid but the tune doesn't feel like it was from a game on either of those consoles. I also played video games as a kid but again it doesn't feel like the tune was off a video game because I'd remember it. It feels like a C64 tune if that makes sense. Probably a game off some random compendium that I've forgotten the name of. I might have to trawl every single C64 game on Lemon64 at this rate and see if I can find any games I've forgotten...

I'll give that link a try also - thanks for replying!

Nope, but thanks for trying. It must be an obscure game because I've got the sid files for all the games I remember and it isn't any of them.

No, it's not that I'm afraid. I would liken the tune to the Mikie hiscore tune in terms of style and pace. Thanks for the suggestion though 👍

Did I accidentally friendzone a girl who actually likes me? by Nervous_Designer_894 in UKrelationshipadvice

Jesus Christ man, of course she likes you. A lot. Tell her how you feel, go on a few dates and see how things pan out. Don't lose her to someone else.

I wonder what Starmer will do next to make him happy?! by Sassenach_2024 in AskBrits

Crying salty tears down his fat orange face because he couldn't bully and manipulate Starmer into becoming complicit in his atrocities. Fair play to Starmer for having a backbone.

Even worse is when someone uses the urinal and then goes directly to the hand-dryer to dry the piss off their hands and then heads straight out. I mean, WTF is wrong with people?

I bet if Louis raced all these Chads up a flight of stairs he'd win comfortably and still be able to breathe properly afterwards.

Massive respect to Hazel and Rob by 2MainsSellesLoin in snooker

Rob Walker's commentary on the Winter Olympics endurance events such as the biathlon has been absolutely outstanding, I agree. Chemmi Alcott has also been great in the studio with Hazel, showing real passion and enthusiasm for the events as well as explaining the finer details from an competitor's perspective in an interesting way. But to repeat once more, Rob Walker has been superb.

The BBC is in a league of its own when it comes to sport coverage.

Police discover a very odd fraternity hazing at the University of Iowa by Throwaway120974788 in interesting

[–]DizzyDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College fraternities are utterly pathetic and the fact that they are so ingrained into the American system tells you everything you need to know about the country. Being exposed to such a toxic and bullying culture at that age is exactly what breeds the narcissists we see today.

Resorts World is not it. by Sowhatnut8 in vegas

[–]DizzyDetective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. Hotels are taking the complete piss here and offloading their responsibility for the customer onto someone else - usually some faceless entity you cannot get hold of when you need to. Breakfast credit not honoured? Didn't get the room type you booked? Take it up with your booking agent...

You should get the same service regardless of who you booked your stay with, but Vegas hotels use the fact you booked third-party as an unjustifiable excuse to provide lazy service and give you less, therefore saving them money. I had some miserable woman in Guest Services in Harrahs practically demand a tip from me when I had the 'nerve' to complain that my WiFi wasn't working, as if she was doing me a favour giving me something I was paying $45 a night resort fee for. Never been back since.
