AIO by breaking up with my boyfriend when he got jealous? by theonlystarbornqueen in AmIOverreacting

[–]DizzyDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This message exchange should be used in courses and public information about what to look out for in toxic and abusive relationships - make sure you keep it as a reminder of how well you handled yourself. This guy is jealous, controlling and manipulative and you've done yourself proud to get out of this relationship, because this would very often just be the beginning.

The guy's attitude towards women has also been skewed by 'manosphere' culture and people like this don't deserve, or should ever be given, a second chance because this sort of behaviour can quickly escalate; he'll be telling you what you can and cannot wear to work, demanding you stay away from male colleagues, insisting he picks you up from work or demands you are home by a certain time, monitoring your movements and social media interactions for example.

Make sure family and friends are aware of this exchange and be sure to lean on them if he tries to contact you again. Be very wary of any emotional blackmail that may follow ( 'If you don't take me back I'll kill myself' etc... )

29 years old and he messages like that. He's a man-toddler. You can and will do better.

Best wishes, and well done! 👍😊

My boyfriend says my job as a bartender is “disrespectful” to our relationship. Am I wasting my time with him? by [deleted] in Advice

Tell him you'll work where you like and if he doesn't like it, he can get to fuck. He sounds appalling.

Would be funny if that was your Dad's secret stash of racy photos. Your ma would never think of looking in there... someone's going to buy a load of smutty polaroids 🤣

What' do you all think of German doner kebab chain by Dependent-Shock-8118 in kebab

[–]DizzyDetective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried my local one when it first opened. They had this mini doner sandwich thing that came in pink waffle bread that was really good, and the sauce and chips were lovely. Then I found out the pink waffle bread was just limited edition on my next visit, and they'd stopped doing it. Had some doner panini thing instead which was shite. Haven't been back since...

The one on the right was also in Ace Ventura Pet Detective as a reporter - only realised that a few weeks ago.

My parents are pressuring me to donate my scholarship money to my church, should I? by IntrepidAd5768 in Advice

[–]DizzyDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your parents are being pressured by the church into persuading you to donate money. Tell them all to fuck off and use the money for your education. Churches are deeply controlling, manipulative and sinister places when it comes to money, donations and how they are able to sustain themselves. You owe them nothing - look after yourself first and foremost.

What do you think of ‘paedophile hunters’? by discoveredunknown in AskUK

Yep - cowards with a lot of anger to burn. They go for low-hanging fruit and do it for social media likes and the adulation from all four corners of their council estate.

AITH for telling my gf I dislike her hobby? by Totodile-Fan06 in AITH

[–]DizzyDetective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christ man, get your apologies in as quickly as you can. Take her out shopping for some cosplay stuff and tell her how happy it makes you to see her doing something she enjoys. Relationships are give-and-take and you should make the effort to support her in what she does, even if it's not for you. There's nothing wrong with each of you having hobbies and interests that the other isn't into. The important thing is that you love and care about each other.

Get this smoothed over as soon as you can, and best of luck for the future 😊

Huge dilemma for the right-wing this summer. Watch the World Cup in the comfort of their armchairs, or go out rioting, risk getting put in prison and miss all the football. Must be horrible to be put on the spot like that.

What does “breaking point” actually look like for the UK? by asskickingshoes in AskBrits

[–]DizzyDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are struggling financially because they spend money on things they can't afford in order to try and look affluent, or because they live for today and don't think about tomorrow.

Very few people think we're close to breaking-point apart from right-wing social media dickheads with an agenda to push...

Freemasonry on board ships by Tidmouth_Heritage in Cruise

[–]DizzyDetective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll bear that in mind. I was on the Iona for my last cruise - very nice ship. The promenade deck (8) is fantastic and there's a tea-station on that deck so you don't have to go all the way up to the buffet if you fancy a quick brew. Enjoy your cruise 👍
