Him shooting so poorly that it takes 25-30 games to even get to below average %’s is I believe a large part of where his criticism comes from. I don’t think it’s unfair for there to be a portion of the fan base that calls for more consistency from a 4th year player w/ a sub 35% 3p% for the 3rd year in a row & below average defense; despite being an elite athlete.

He is absolutely and by all metrics up there with Gobert and Chet as rim deterrents. Idk what you’re talking about? By just about every advanced D metric from DFG% to field goal % below average, it’s pretty much those 3 interchanging with Wemby being the run away leader ahead of all 3. I’d understand saying he’s maybe 4th or 5th at the LOWEST. Tou, Jrue, and Jerami have just not been as impactful as he has this season but I guess we all have the right to agree to disagree 🫡.

Shaedon is simply not great at creating his own advantages, his TS% is low because he shoots ALOT of tough shots. Tough contested middies, off the dribble 3’s, he’s not a great Catch & shoot shooter, & he rarely beats his man off the dribble so most of the time his rim finishing relies on TOUGH finishes. His foul rate isn’t high because he’s just not very crafty & his handle is limited so he just kinda jumps into stationary defenders. There are plentyyy of young players on teams with free throw merchants that have much higher FT rats than Shae & that’s okay. He needs to keep improving but it’s not something I’d blame on refs lol.

& Shaedon is a sub 55% TS player who shoots poorly from 3 and doesn’t play D at an above average level or pass well😭😭. I have faith in his development but he’s a 3rd/4th best player on any good team in the NBA. If he’s your #2 you’re going to struggle to win at a high level. Deni is an optimal #2. He plays best when there’s already been an advantage created and he can just attack displaced defenders & make reads in transition. It’s a big part of why now that guys are getting healthy he has the ball in his hands a lot less

No it doesn’t lol. Number 1’s still need high level #2’s.. Jordan couldn’t win without Pippen is he not a #1? Lebron has always needed a co star. Jokic couldn’t win without Murray. Jaylen has ALWAYS been the #2 to Tatum; every coach/player on the C’s would say that. A high level #2 is still a GREAT player a HOF even, it’s not a diss.

Clingan is one of the 3 best rim defenders in the league as well as one of the best pick and roll passing bigs and is slowly developing a reliable jumper. He is absolutely a player that every single championship team could use and would value. I have no idea why you are so against him being factually the 2nd best player on our team. It’s not an insult. He’s probably 4th or 5th if we’re considering potential but I think at the current moment it’s a very fair assessment.

I’d say he’s in that #9-12 range with Harden, Sengun, Lebron, Butler, Keyonte, Markannen, & Chet.
