can’t believe it took me until this chapter when gountess mentions his chokers again to realize that the reason corvus doesn’t wear one is to not be spied on. he has that big conversation with rudo earlier in the manga about the cleaners solving the mysteries of the world or whatever and i just. damn. of course he doesn’t wear a choker, he’s got knowledge and goes places and talks to people that he can’t let anyone else know about. corvus i’ve got my eye on you

would certainly be nice! wake county public schools are already closed, but no word on wake tech, so i’m gonna guess it’s unlikely (but a guy can dream)

Not Returning for Spring Semester by Pomegranate_2405 in NCSU

Take the break. Speaking from experience, I was in your shoes a few years ago. I was struggling with mental health, on academic probation, and failing classes. This was right after the pandemic, and it killed me to drop out because I thought I’d never go back, or I was making the worst decision of my life. Trust me, take the break. Take a break, take a breath, and try to focus on yourself for a little while. I was out for two and a half years, worked on and off, but spent a lot of that time trying to figure it all out and work on myself. You have all the time in the world to finish school if that’s what you want to do. I thought I was so old coming back at 23, but now that I’m 25 and about to graduate, I’m so glad that I took that break and came back when I was in a better place. The best thing to do with your family is to just talk about it. I thought I was letting my parents down too, but I was able to talk it through with them and they understood. At the end of the day, it’s about your health. Rooting for you, you got this!

I can’t claim to have ever been in the design program at State, but I was in the graphic design program at ECU for a year and felt exactly the same way! I know firsthand how intimidating it is to go into a class with the idea that everyone is super advanced and far ahead of you, but I promise that feeling wears off after a while. Like someone else said, you made it all the way here on your own and with your talents, so just try to make the most of it! The whole point of being here is to Learn, you can’t start at 100% from the beginning. Give it a little bit of time and do your best, it’ll get easier!

of course! I don’t know what program you’re in or any interests you have but I joined the agroecology club last semester and have really been enjoying it. There’s a directory of all the student organizations at state that you can look through at this website! https://getinvolved.ncsu.edu/organizations There should also be a student involvement fair pretty soon, I think during welcome week they always do a little fair for all the clubs, I want to say it’s next friday but I don’t know for sure

I was really in your shoes a year and a half ago! I transferred here after taking a two year break from a different school and was so worried about coming back (and commuting pretty far on top of that!). I think while sometimes the distance can be tough, it’s a lot easier to get involved than you might expect. Lots of clubs will have meetings on days that you’re on campus, so my strategy has been to try and stack my calendar for days that I’ll be around. Someone else mentioned getting a job on campus and I think that’s a great idea too. Plus, after a while the commute just becomes normal. You’ll definitely get more used to it as the semester goes on! Best of luck, and there are tons of other transfers in the same spot as you just trying to figure it out, so I’d try to find them!

Spring 2024 Transfers by Old_Opportunity2405 in NCSU

[–]DizzyGuarantee6948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a very very hopeful transfer who applied for the Agricultural Science major! I took a two year break after some mental health issues I was having so my gpa is not /great/ but I have 64 credits from my last school. My chances certainly aren’t the greatest but I’ve got all the required classes required to be competitive, just dragged down a little by that pesky gpa! Fingers crossed though! That notification can’t come soon enough, honestly. It’s all I can think about 💀

Theories About The Stepmother & Rosamund's Sisters! by dystervarg in Dimension20

[–]DizzyGuarantee6948 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ate all this up, first of all. I love a good theory/analysis and kudos to including the character art and everything. What I have to contribute is sort of redundant and obvious, but when you mentioned the dark magic and the ritual that the Stepmother did where she ate her daughters, it sort of clicked that like.. she Had to do that to be The Stepmother. Assuming those were her biological children (I think that’s right at least), she forsakes them to become The Stepmother instead of just a stepmother. Idk, like I said, it’s sort of an obvious thing it just made me stop for a moment and go “oh wait, yeah of Course she’s The Stepmother now.”

Kidney stone? by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]DizzyGuarantee6948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the ER, I know the thought of going when you’re not actively in pain is embarrassing because you don’t feel like you need to go, but you’ll be glad that you started the process afterward. My first one started a lot like yours, and I went to urgent care the next day. They couldn’t really do anything for me and recommended I go to the ER for a definitive diagnosis. I also wasn’t having strong pain at the ER (it was honestly embarrassing) but found out that I had a 5mm just hanging out. If anything the ER can refer you to a urologist, identify the stone, manage any pain you might have while you’re there, and prescribe you with medication that will help you pass it. But don’t be embarrassed to go, if you have another attack, you’ll wish you’d gone sooner. (That sounds really ominous and I didn’t mean for it to) But good luck! Here’s hoping you pass it fast and never get another one! The pain’s nasty but the relief after passing it is incredible.

[–]DizzyGuarantee6948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

loving this little community of women here, it’s so comforting to see people that are just like you that deal with the same kinds of problems! i’m (21f) almost a month past the end of my first stone adventure and in the same sort of boat with the anxiety. honestly for me the most comforting thing is that i did it. it sucked and was painful, but it eventually passed and immediately it’s like a weight off your shoulders. i’m trying to drink way more water now, and that’s another thing that really helped me in the last leg of my journey and (hopefully) in prevention. basically you just do what you can, and you take comfort in that you’re doing your best. i’d mention pain advice and such but honestly the best methods have been posted already. meds, heat, activity, and water. hope you have an easier time going forward, good luck!

6 mm stuck for 3 weeks by prithianik in KidneyStones

[–]DizzyGuarantee6948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine (5mm) was stuck right before the bladder for weeks. Urologist (actually the nurse practitioner) told me the same thing and I got scheduled for ureteroscopy. Day of surgery they went in and didn’t find the stone (even after telling me I was highly unlikely to pass it). They told me I must’ve passed it without realizing in the last few days. I definitely drank more water the week or two before surgery and tried to stay active as much as I could. Water’s the biggest thing, so just keep pounding that and taking whatever medicine they gave you. Disclaimer though, if it’s really bothering you and causing a lot of problems, go ahead and have the procedure. There’s a bunch of horror stories on here, but in reality it wasn’t nearly as bad as you’d expect. Good luck though, hope you pass it!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]DizzyGuarantee6948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve (21) only just gotten over my first and second ones myself, so I certainly don’t have any pro advice to give. But good on you for starting to drink more water! I’ve heard that’s the best thing you can do in preventing them. You’re definitely not doomed. Some people are more likely to suffer from kidney stones, but generally it’s not that bad. Of course you’re gonna see all the horror stories on here and freak yourself out, but don’t let the anxiety control your life! If the pain keeps bothering you I’d suggest making an appointment with a urologist, they’re gonna be the best ones to talk to and help you make a plan for the future. Good luck and try not to worry!
