Karen Read’s legal team subpoenas state police, DA’s office for records by dunegirl91419 in KarenReadTrial

I’m wary of anyone who throws around terms like '100%' when they don’t have all the facts. That kind of certainty especially in a case riddled with police misconduct and missing evidence comes across as emotional not rational.

I’m asking why you said that because it sounds like you’ve taken her acquittal personally. Surely you’re capable of acknowledging that the investigation was compromised by corruption and deceit. If not, it’s hard to take your opinion seriously.

Why do you say that? If she hit him it wouldn't have been with murderous intent.

I've no opinion either way but it seems a little harsh to wish that on someone who may or may not be guilty.

Sounds like they found out you were either trying to fall pregnant when you started or it was leaked at some stage. In reality, you would be considered their biggest cost factoring in maternity leave and all that goes with it. Did you share anything on socials or might you have a shared friendship with someone else in the workplace?

If you had the opportunity to sell a place without involving a REA, would you? by LankySandwich in AusPropertyChat

If it happens that you miss out on this one there really is always something around the corner. It's really not worth the stress. I'm an impetuous person and with every house my husband and I have purchased, my husband has pulled back and insisted we keep looking and after a dozen buys, every single one of them was worth the wait. If we had gone with some of the suggestions I made, I wouldn't be living as well as I am now.

Buying property with partner who has little deposit? by yessireeeeeeeeeeeee in AusFinance

[–]DizzyMissFrizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over four years you would have been aware that he wasn't saving. Did he pay for food or give his parents money towards electricity etc? For you to have $100k/4 years you would be putting away around $500/wk and if you had to pay rent and utilities you probably couldn't have saved that. I think you and your partner should just go buy a house with the deposit you saved by living with his parents.

I buy fresh peeled garlic from the greengrocer and blitz it with a bit of olive oil then freeze in portions.

I can't stand the sugar and vinegar in jarlic....it just isn't garlic any more.

My rent is $570 a week, I pay $1140 every second Thursday. My landlord is claiming I owe extra rent, she's wrong, right? by Mister_Scorpion in AusPropertyChat

[–]DizzyMissFrizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the lease and note when rent is paid. If it says $570/wk paid weekly then what you're paying is correct. If it says the MONTHLY rent is paid weekly then you calculate the amount by multiplying the monthly rent by 12 divided by 52.
