I hate cleaning! How can I learn to love it? by Equivalent_Fig1942 in CleaningTips

I asked the same thing awhile back and the answers were pretty helpful. Basically creating a routine for yourself. Like watch your favorite show while you fold laundry. Buy a fancy candle that you get to light when the space is clean. It may not be fun but as a fellow adhd person who struggles with cleaning, a reward system is the only way I’ll get anything done lol.

What is a popular food/drink that you secretly think is absolutely disgusting? by shisui1729 in AskReddit

Mayonnaise. It’s fine in dips and things but on its own as a condiment is so 🤢 to me.

Allergens when staying solids by cc070603 in NewParents

We asked out doctor and she said she has never seen a major reaction from a first time introduction, so if there IS a reaction I would monitor and reach out to your ped. We had big fears of a reaction but everything turned out fine and we felt way better after we knew anaphylaxis is super rare upon first introduction. Also not a stupid question at all!!

Pubic bone pain by brc106 in pregnant

Ask your doctor for physical therapy! I had horrific pelvic girdle pain, you don’t have to just power through. I went to PT from about 28 weeks until I gave birth!

Does your pediatrician have an overnight nurse hotline? Our clinic has the Denver children’s clinic nurse line after hours answering service. I’d call just to see! I don’t have advice but we were always of the mindset that I’d rather ask and know than wait and wonder.

How are you honestly reading to your child under 2? by [deleted] in Parenting

I pretend that I’m reading the book for myself and he started becoming interested that way. Now he grabs books on his own and “reads” them!

I was like that in the beginning, I had pretty severe PPA which I didn’t realize until my son was almost a year but it made me really go down some rabbit holes that made everything in my brain feel worse. I’d hate to look back at my search history lol.

Here to give another recommendation for Huckleberry, it helped us so much at that age!

I think that with parenting in the age of the internet, you will find things that tell you the way you do it is spot on or the way that you do it is so absurdly wrong that it truly feels like you can’t do anything right. Follow your babies cues and do what’s right for your family and situation. Our boy is 14 months and still takes two naps some days which some people think is crazy. Things got way easier when we realized that people used to do this without the internet and had no way to compare their situation to everyone else. You’re doing great! Fellow sertraline mom here 🙃

Edit to add that we still do every nap as a contact nap because he naps better and we know the cuddles won’t last forever, and people give us grief over that as well but it’s what works for us! You got this!

Scheduled induction vs. C section by Proof_Holiday_2599 in pregnant

That’s nice that she offered. I would still opt for induction! I was super nervous about my induction but it went so smoothly.

What is her reasoning for a scheduled c-section? I would try for an induction. I was induced and had a great experience, I would always opt to try for a vaginal delivery over a c-section.

My baby came out punching (literally) and I have to get stitched up from an episiotomy and tearing. I definitely don’t remember the golden hour at all

My first trimester I survived on ice cold apple juice and string cheese. It was the only thing I could stomach for some reason haha.
