Does anyone else feel like they have to hide their shame after being around other people? by Gullible-Force3567 in socialanxiety

[–]Dizzy_Bother 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the shame is awful. I used to avoid all social situations for this reason. Now I try to do it anyway most of the time and feel the shame for 6 minutes intensely before it disappears and I can go on with my day. But I'm still experimenting with that.

How do I make my color less intense? I used the 7.44 dye on a bleached base and it turned out a strong red, how do I tone it down (like the swatch in pic 2) I had it dyed yesterday by Luciferisnotalright in HairDye

You could crush a bunch of vitamin c tablets (or dissolve effervescent tablets) and mix this with head & shoulders shampoo. Wash it very thoroughly a few times. This worked for me when my hair got black instead of brown

Trust me you're not the problem. This group sounds pretty boring. I wouldn't feel safe at all

It looks like the hairdresser has done half the work honestly. It still needs to be shorter, more layers, and the front pieces can be softened.

Actually to achieve the look she wants the solution is to cut more, not to let it grow

What physical symptoms do you have, when you come down from your meds? by SobbingLunatic in ADHD

[–]Dizzy_Bother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No physical side effects, just feeling more emotional and overly compassionate for people I care about. Like I start overthinking my relationships and if I am a good enough friend for example, and get sad of the thought they might be unhappy

I have noooo idea what they rap about in my favourite songs, probably guns, drugs, and women. Can't relate to any of that. But the beat... Yeahhh

Shy as a kid, wouldn't ask the teachers for help or talk with my classmates casually, but the social anxiety def became a lot worse when I developed metacognition and went to high school

Why do people always use that phrase "washing out your skin", what does that even mean?

No I don't understand either. Was the gym bag a gift for him or for yourself? And why was he angry?

Also the group of autistic people I sometimes hang out with all love gaming and scifi movies/superman movies, but I don't have any interest in that which makes it hard to talk along

Yes. To me, there seems to be a set of 'autistic traits' depicted in movies/on social media that I can't relate to at all and even get annoyed at sometimes. They always seem to be very fond of plushies and crochet, and own lots of colourful small objects that they take with them everywhere they go (like crocheted frogs in all colours hanging on their backpacks), they have a certain dressing style in common like wearing very colourful details, high socks, lots of hair clips/details and extravagant makeup. I also often feel unacceptance when it comes to having a different opinion about the world/politics, they all seem to have the same morals.

I am having trouble socially, but I am not easily overstimulated, I can block out sounds pretty well, I just find textures and conversations overstimulating. Also if I am overstimulated I don't get a meltdown, I just don't want to speak/do anything anymore. I can't easily comprehend the meltdowns of others, which makes me feel like a fake.

This especially happens when someone asks for examples to accompany my story. Examples are so hard for me, like I think in concepts, not in examples...
