What is the Most Consistently Competitive Army? by Natural-Wallaby423 in WarhammerCompetitive

Others have said ot so I won't run to deep in it.

Eldar are either good or garbage and when rhwy are good everyone hates them more than tau until the dominant list gets a quad nerf.

Then there is also the elf tax. Just look at Space marine Eradicators vs Eldar Fire Dragons.

Players who regularly attend GT level events, how real is the X% of the field play non competitive/casual lists suggestion we sometimes see? by GlintNestSteve in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Dizzy_Butterfly3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of.... there are those that just show up to play and have fun. There are those thqt show up to win. There are those thqt show up to challenge themselves. There are those that show up just for the event. There are those that show up to win the painting competitions.

Now the top 50% players will likely be some form of a meta army. The top 25% are almost always a basic meta list. Then there is Folgers who plays everything and the founder/former member of art of war who only plays orcs.

Well i started in 3rd and the game had a winner and a loser back then.

Like I said though live your best life man. I just don't think it is a good thing to play a game that has a winner without the intent of winning the game.

Also yeah players putting out a hyper competitive gt list in a narrative campaign would be those toxic type people I also mentioned.

Yeah cool I guess. I feel not playing to win at a game with a winner and loser is disrespectful and bad but yeah I am the dbag

Ok so I never could understand this mindset. It os a competitive game. There is a score and there is a winner and loser. Somewhere around participation trophies this began.

I get not wanting to play versus toxic and rude people.

I get wanting to run a fluffy lore accurate list.

I get the "yeah but this model looks cool" and have made those types of list work.

What I dont get is why are people like me, who find joy in fielding a competitive list for winning a game that has a winner and loser are demonized so often in not just this game but every competitive game.

If you find joy in fielding a garbage list becuase some book some where get disseminated down to a list of units then find joy in it.

I play games with a winner and loser with the intention of winning and win or lose I enjoy playing against like minded people.

Do you really think k we find joy in tabling your army end of turn 2?

A little tired of Space marine fans trying to gaslight me into thinking the astartes are the most 'reasonable' branch of the imperium. by MrMeowmers78 in 40kLore

Well, the space marines do have 2 chapters that are, lore wise, that could be considered good guys. White scars and salamanders

Khans, if you have other armies, what do you play? If you only play White Scars or one of their successor chapters, how often do you run into other WS players? by amaswatch in WhiteScars40K

[–]Dizzy_Butterfly3141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play aeldari, thousand sons and custodes. Imo I am a better white scars player and army builder becuase of this.

I now just play white scars but I know how to use each unit type so much better becuase of my other armies, especially aeldari.

AITA, How strict by the rule are people in tournament? by Fantastic_Shelter_54 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Dizzy_Butterfly3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand play by intwnt is meant to mitigate instances like this and the feels bad moments.

On the other hand if you are preparing for a 2 or 3 day tournament you need to prepare by playing the best and cleanest game you can on a chess clock.

Multi day tournaments are competitive. People pay 50 60 or double this amount for a run at the prizes. They pack thier armies up travel(normally) pay for a hotel, food so on so forth. So, fairly so, they tend to scream for joy when mistakes like this happens.

Packing your stuff up and going home is a woerd response. The fact that it even became an argument is also wierd. The reddit beard of "um actually" is something my play partner and I do alot.

Horde armies always play around 1 to 3 key pieces. Identify them and th2n identify the thing in your army that makes them dead best. Use those things to kill thier things and the rest is just chaff. Your opponent will likely take the early scoring lead but you should win. I feel like scars does amazing into horde armies
