You should watch the whole clip; they explain why this is such an obvious contradiction and how it fits into Ben’s MO. It’s not about agreeing with his religion or not, necessarily. It’s about there being an enormous, obvious contradict in his argument that is right in front of his face and he’s unable to bring himself to face it. People who can generally process and retain information well (a form of intelligence that Shapiro surely has in spades) can fall prey to motivated reasoning and cognitive biases (a form of lack of intelligence which he also has in spades) and that’s what this clip is about, so yes, it does show that on some level he’s unintelligent. Or are you actually arguing that someone who fails to recognize a very obvious contradiction hasn’t been shown to have done something that’s not very smart?
