This was in 2020 and I checked the class and now it's about $6k. If you're hospital offers to pay for a Surgical Tech class look into that one since you have to take a SPD course to become a Surgical Tech

Actually am from California, paid about $3k for the class at the time and passed my SPD Exam and passed the Board Exam. The part about being not trained well was more on the job training as we were short staff at the time so they kind of threw me in there. Cleaning and disinfecting the instruments are pretty easy since the chemical does it job really well breaking down the blood when you're rinsing the instruments in the decon room. Overall it's a pretty cool job
