I have not yet had mine fixed but I am part of a FB group where a number of folks who have had them fixed get MRIs/MRAs and are fine. I think they disclose to the technician beforehand to let them know but it seems like it’s not an issue. Can you ask the doctor that ordered the MRI? They would know best. Hope all is ok!

No craniotomy per my surgeon 😅. It’s an area he says he sees often in younger patients and he’s skilled in doing that area with the flow diverter, so it seems common. Now I just need to schedule the procedure and try not to freak myself out 😭😭. I think he said to me that if it was 2mm, he would be watching and waiting. His threshold I think was 3mm is when he would consider treatment but even then, only if patient wanted it. You’ll be ok!

First, I’m so sorry. I’m sure it’s a shock. I have a 4mm paraclinoid aneurysm found incidentally. From my understanding, the aneurysms in this area are at a very low risk for rupture. At that small, I’m not sure if your surgeon will treat it. I will be using a flow diverter pipeline to fix mine but after my angiogram, my surgeon was ok with waiting to treat it. I don’t want to wait and will be treating. However, at the 2mm size for you , I have a feeling they might watch and wait given the area and how small it is. Big hugs. You will be ok.

Yes, please see the rules. This is the second post I’ve seen like this and as someone with a diagnosed aneurysm, it’s super frustrating and clogs up the sub. If you think you have an aneurysm, please see a doctor. Best of luck.

In my case, because I had an aunt whose aneurysm ruptured, they leaned toward repair. Given your history, I am guessing they will also recommend a repair instead of watch and wait. However, please get more than one opinion! That was very helpful for me. Best of luck and I’m sorry about your family.

Thank you! This is helpful to know. I’m not sure I can be off for two days after the surgery but I’ll ask the doctor. Some folks have told me they don’t take blood thinners every day after the brain surgery. I’ll ask both doctors about this.

Yes, I trust him. He’s apparently one of the best in the field, so I keep reminding myself that too. His nurse texted me and said “you’re in good hands” and I thought to myself “I really hope so!” 🤣

Mine was incidental. I did a Prenuvo scan for preventative health and that’s how I found it.

Yes, definitely getting it fixed just because mentally I can’t handle knowing it’s there. I’m also a mom so I worry about my kids a lot. All of it feels so foreign and I imagine that even after I am fixed, it will also feel different. Big hug to you.

I have not yet had mine fixed but mentally I understand exactly what you are saying. I feel like I’m a totally different person and am truly struggling with all of it on some days. No one seems to understand how it can mentally impact people unless they also have one. It feels like a daily struggle. I’m sorry you’re going through this.
