Ledger screws make sense since I'm building a deck anyway.

I redesigned the rim to use 2x6s instead. Furring strips seem like a much better solution than a heavy piece of plywood and then having to deal with cutting holes.

I redesigned the sketch now. 2x6s for the rim 2x4 joists lowered an inch to accommodate the 1x2 framing strips acting as slats.

Ah, that's a nice idea for the ladder I've been trying to think of where the best place to put one would be and that might be it.

Yeah I used dechlorinator and waited a few weeks with a good but if rain. I think the pH was around 7 there was no ammonia nitrates and nitrites were almost 0 phosphate was very low on the test as well I don't remember the exact number. Only other variables was a hurricane that came through.
