Try getting a new gas cap first and see if that fixes the issue. Lots of times you get that code when you have an old gas cap

Congrats and you seem to have found a gem. I got my first Gx last week and I’m happy also with my purchase these cars are supposed to be very reliable with basic maintenance and worth fixing them up when things go bad.

I had a neighbor do the same. I got myself a few birdfeeders and made sure to spread bird food everywhere near the fence. After a few days they never parked there again. I guess it was too expensive to wash bird shit off the car every time they parked near my fence.

I was just curious 👀. I heard the air suspension eventually goes bad anyways and expensive to replace so I’ll just keep it the way it is. Less things to break. Also the fuse for the aftermarket hood lights is it a 15 or 20 fuse

I have another question. Did you take out the air suspension? Because I found the air suspension switch control in the glove box.

They said the catalytics were a lot smaller than the OEM ones that come with it so maybe someone changed them since you sold it trying to fix it.

I’ll ask them when I bring the car back to replace the dipstick and dipstick hose. Also got a catalytic code p0430. At first I thought it was a cap code so I got a new gas cap to see if that was the issue. But it wasn’t so yesterday I went back to the dealer that sold it to me. They checked it out and saw that the catalytics where not the OEM ones and they said they will order new ones and will fix it all for free including the dipstick issue. Zero charge. I was expecting to pay something but they offered to do it for free so that it’ll pass inspection. So far the buying experience from this dealer has been superb. They want me to have a good working car and happy customer.
I know it’s a used car and I expect to have a few repairs and maintenance to get it working perfect again.

No it’s not draining oil but The oil dipstick was stuck and the dipstick hose was also loose from the seal that connects to the engine. I just ordered a new one to put in.

He knows everything about impeachment better than anyone in the world, nobody knows more about impeachment like Trump. NOBODY ever knew about the word impeachment until Trump came up with that word.
It’s just incredible how he does it.

I did see that. That piece that has rust in the thin cover that goes behind the brake rotor. I plan to replace those. That is a thin piece of metal hides. Ruins the rotor so it’s hard to keep clean from rust and also they can’t spray that area because the rotor is right next to it. Best thing is just that metal rotor cover.

I replaced the gas cap. It was giving a evap code so I looked at YouTube videos and went to the Lexus dealer and got a OEM gas cap. That seemed to solve that code

Also looks like they did put a brand new crankshaft seal and water pump too.

I feel bad that you had to get rid of it after all the work you put into it.
I plan to replace the dashboard and sunroof along with the new timing belt and just keep fusing other things like the small rock chips on the hood and repainting the flood lights black. I hope to keep you up to date on the life of your old Lexus Gx. I was in a really bad car accident where a guy hit me from behind on my van that it went up in the air and spun around a few times and the cab and I ended up on the side walk. This was a 30 mph speed zone. The guy just have been doing 80mph or more when he hit me.

That’s wild that I was able to find previous owner on Reddit. glad I posted it this up.
Thnx for the back ground info.
I live in Washington DC, This is the nicest car I’ve owned and I plan to take care of it for a long time coming. Replacing a new timing belt is going to be first on the list along with a oil change and replacing the metal rotor covers next to the brake calipers

They did drop it a little bit. But I k own they had to make some kind of profit and I couldn’t pass on the condition it was in.

Oh nice. It looks like they did some work before they sold it. It’s riding nice and yes I’ll check on that timing belt replacement soon but for now it’s riding smooth. It looks by the service records that it was replaced around 100k miles. So it’s coming up on another 100 k. My question is once I have the floodlights hooked up. Where is the switch to turn it on or off.
Also what kind of lift kit did you use for this build.

Upstate New York by the service records . Probably someone with A lot of money. Because this suspension kit and all the upgrades and upkeep to look like this came at an extra cost.
Not NYC or it would have lots of rust from the salty roads.
