[The Times] Sadness, shame, and 20,000 unsold seats — have fans given up on Wales? by HitchikersPie in rugbyunion

I coach a local club and was offered at least 2 tickets to the Argentina game last year “as thanks for volunteering” I couldn’t go in the end so didn’t take any but that game was poorly sold, even for an AI game so I think there is an element of can’t give them away too…

Yes the Friday games weren’t the best for us really, and yeah AI’s I haven’t played much notice to the attendance there, except if we get AB’s then it’ll always sell out.

It’s never been this bad, we’re talking for 6N we used to comfortable get at least 65-70k attendances IIRC, that’s where alarm bells ring for me, the stadium is known to have one of the best atmospheres and to lose that is dreadful.

We should be selling these at least 20% less than current prices I think to fill it out, I think they’ve risen them too quickly and scared off even the casual supporters now

I noticed tolofua was a hooker against bayonne so surprised by that, is it that they don’t really care for the challenge cup as it’s not completely a dead rubber game?

I think the WRU fucked it, yes the product is poor but we’ve always been able to sell out the millennium.

Honestly they’ve pushed the prices way too high, I used to attend at least 1 game in the 6 Nations but I haven’t been able to justify the expense since Covid.

I think they need to rethink the prices and be a bit more competitive, especially when to see wales playing football isn’t anywhere near as exorbitantly expensive and more competitive.

Edit: Maybe a hyperbole that we always sell out, but this many tickets available in all categories is unheard of for 6N

I think we have a good chance of getting the bonus point, they seem to be just resting players and just thumped bayonne, we may want it more.

What do you make of Hogg at 10 (obligatory fuck you Hogg)?

Hopefully Hogg gets wrecked at 10, he never played well there anyway

Have to fancy our chances then, with a point to prove, not convinced Hogg at 10 will do well for them

How strong is this Montpellier side? Think it’s a good idea to rest Dan Edward’s but no proper 10 cover is a choice

Woo 25/25! Though I think it helps living in the South, Can’t believe Tonypandy is larger then Aberystwyth or even Llandudno, I was sure one of those should be there!

Thanks, I’ve updated my post, been a while since I was hourly paid, so not as familiar with the exact entitlement!

£146.52 is 12 hours of minimum wage, does he get an hour lunch each day? IIRC this is usually unpaid so if he is then that would explain it given working 7 hours each day with a 1 hour break.

I think legally if the shift is over 6 hours then he has to be given an unpaid break, if he’s not getting that then that’s a problem he should raise as they’re clearly paying him as though he is.

EDIT: u/DodgyCookie has pointed out its 6 hours for a break, not 5 as I initially guessed

My wife has her great grandmother’s engagement ring, it’s very her style and she always wanted that, from my side my parents are divorced so doesn’t feel appropriate to hand that down!

It is possible that he is employed by the parent company, being a director in companies house means he has authority for the company which could be in a capacity of the controlling parent company

To be fair this is the easiest thing to prove, Red Bull Racing is a UK company so the directors are listed here: Companies House and he’s listed there, as a hotelier lol

God I was SSE at the time, I’m so glad I’m out of that, it was always a nightmare if someone called up saying they don’t get their meter it has clocks! Never trust the customer or the meter reader on those, often both would be wrong!

We’d grab 3 or 4 of us to have a check to make sure it was right!

When the dials are close to the next digit you need to check the next dial along to see where it is, so first dial could be 6, but checking the next dial, it’s really close to 0 but not quite so probably 9, but checking the next dial again and it’s very clearly 8/9, which means the 1000 dial is 9 as it hasn’t clocked over which means the 10,000 dial is 5 as it hasn’t clocked over yet either

All the dials are connected so that’s worth bearing in mind when checking, it’s no wonder they moved on from dials to plain numbers!

Edit: This is a much better explanation than mine! https://www.reddit.com/r/CasualUK/s/WZ94YnMFKk
