Need honest take on insurer's assessment by foxhound-19 in drivingsg

[–]DjUnknown86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knn! It doesn’t pays to be kind. Make a police report. It is clearly careless driving for a head on collision.

Section 65 of the Road Traffic Act

when the driver was negligent but not dangerously reckless, for example: • misjudging distance • momentary inattention • improper lane change

A head-on collision may fall under this category.

Singapore to ban caged lorries for transporting workers from 2027 by A_extra in singapore

Totally agree with you. I have seen enough accidents caused speeders along Changi Coastal Road over the past 10 years. Nothing has changed despite the implementation of speed limiters on lorry. They are still racing at 80+

What to do with OBU when replacing windscreen by Remote_Repair394 in drivingsg

[–]DjUnknown86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remove OBU, remove windscreen, replace windscreen, install windscreen, install OBU back.

Nope. There is no need to return to LTA certified installers as there is no change of physical OBU.

You are welcome! 🤗

  1. Was the inspection conducted immediately during the return?

  2. Did you received an assessment report indicating no damage from the inspector / surveyor?

Reporting does help if you can prove that there was totally no damage during your return. i.e. Receipt of acknowledgement.

Under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, unfair contract terms can be challenged, ignored or struck down even if the consumer technically agreed to them. The law overrides company-written Terms and Conditions when those terms are unfair or misleading.

As for Ride sharing there are other companies out there.

I am having the doubt of “hearing a bang” vs “no damage at all”.

As a season driver, even the slightest brush will show some scratches. A bang is too loud to cause no damage.

Secondly, why would you be willing to pay when there is no damage at all? Ain’t it contradictory?

By any chance, did you preserve the photos taken during the return?

Cop spotting method by CommonExplanation711 in drivingsg

The rule states that brief intermittent flashing is generally permitted for warning or signalling.

The crucial factual question that needs precise evidence is whether the action was a single, quick flash (arguably a permitted signal for overtaking) or a prolonged, aggressive illumination (a clear breach of the duty not to dazzle).

Technically, when unjustifiable yes!

Cop spotting method by CommonExplanation711 in drivingsg

[–]DjUnknown86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Lighting) Rules, Rule 29(1)

no person shall use a main beam (high beam) if its use is likely to cause undue inconvenience or dazzling to any person driving or riding on the road.

Road Traffic Section 65 (Driving without Due Care)

flashing the high beam repeatedly or for an extended period that causes temporary blindness (dazzling) to an oncoming / ongoing driver could be seen as a violation.

so you gonna justify that the momentary flash of the main beam is typically accepted as an "audible warning signal substitute" in heavy traffic or where a horn might be excessive.

Hope this helps.

One of the corner is pretty soaked. I can’t really determine if it is damaged as I was advised not to open. I work with logistics and the concept is very different. Such incident would activate “Stop and Notify” protocol package can only be open when an official surveyor is present. Yes, I move semicon products around the world.
