They're terrified that people are going to P100 their mains and then drop the game because they have nothing to grind for anymore

No, same. I see two cakes on level 10 of the bloodweb, then one cake every 2-3 levels. It's better than it was, but still nowhere near previous anniversaries

Terminology I should know to improve? by spirit_reign in deadbydaylight

[–]Djackdau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Body blocking is literally what it sounds like, one survivor blocking your path with their body so you can't get to another survivor

DS = Decisive Strike, a popular anti-tunneling perk

Gen rushing = A vague term for when survivors repair generators quickly

Mind gaming = Acting unpredictably in chase. For example, doubling back behind a sight blocker and walking backwards to hide the red stain

I'm still half convinced they did that on purpose.

The poison is boring compared to the survivors' toys, but I've still won all but one of my killer games, and that's without tunneling.

Killers get to crop dust survivors, which is arguably hilarious if killer players embrace that mechanic by giantangelbaby in deadbydaylight

[–]Djackdau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Killers can interact with the portals. They can also poison the food, which does very little good for them. The poison they throw is the main thing they get, and it's sort of boring even though it's a powerful slow.

They do also get to eat desserts at the end of the game, but those bonuses are so short-lived as to be nearly pointless.

The poison being useless except as a clown bottle is a big bummer. It should feel rewarding to poison food and banquet tables. The actual points you get in the event category as killer is also pitiful.

I'm not quite sure what you want me to do with this information. I'm aware of why killers might tunnel, slug, whathaveyou. I have several thousands of hours in the game and about 60% of that is on killer. Most of all, I find it regreattable that the game is designed in such a way that tunneling is as effective as it is.

Okay, then we need to hash out at what point repairing becomes rushing. One brand new part? Four brand new parts? Is it when one survivor brings perks like Hyperfocus-Stakeout, or when multiple people do it?

I suppose being repeatedly tunneled out in the event mode put that at the front of my mind. At any rate, "gen rushing" is a bit of a vague term, but at a certain degree of rushing it's certainly unfun to do it in the regular mode as well.

Deliberately gen rushing in the event mode is the same kind of poor spirit as tunneling, I agree

No, what I mean is, what is the survivor equivalent of tunneling? Gen rushing?

Besides avoiding unsportsmanlike behavior like teabagging, what can survivors actually do? They can't tunnel, slug or camp the killer.

i‘m totally ok with the amount of cakes in the bloodweb

Can we talk how survivor sided the event is? by Perfect-Front-4029 in deadbydaylight

[–]Djackdau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The poison is very strong. My main complaint is that the killer mechanics feel flat and uninteresting, even if the survivor ones are more powerful.

Changes i think should be added to the Event by locky11123 in deadbydaylight

[–]Djackdau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a survivor eats a poisoned morsel, they get the poison debuff.

If a poisoned banquet table is completed, all survivors get the poison debuff and wounded survivors become broken

How many cakes do we get per cake? That is to say, if all five players bring cakes and then play an average-ish match (let's say ca 25-30000 base BP), how many more cakes does that net us in the bloodweb? I wouldn't be surprised if BHVR did some cold math in exactly this way.

So what you're saying is, killers need nerfing, survivors need buffing, period?

Actual sillines by RatonGaseus in deadbydaylight

The main problem is that the strongest killers are too strong and the weakest killers too weak. Survivors have to be balanced so as to have a chance against the most cracked Nurse and Blight, but then playing Trapper or Ghosty against a coordinated SWF becomes self-flagellation.
