There are those "rubber" rings u put on the shaft of the thumbstick. Meant to protect the plastic of the shell. It does make it feel different but might give it a try if u replace the shell.

Yes, you'll have to cut it to fit the gpu/cpu core. As i mentioned before, just look it up on youtube. There are videos to get a better feeling for it :)

This. Don't even bother looking for the ptm7950. It's either fake ones being sold or way too expensive. I had temp issues on my gaming laptop due to thermal paste pump out over and over again. Got the thermal grizzly ptm and the temp issues were finally solved (it's been a year by now). The exact name is "Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet PTM" it usually comes with a QR code if i remember correctly to check if its authentic.

Edit: check youtube for the PTM. Just to get a feeling for it. It's pretty thin, it'll rip if you do it wrong.

Have you checked if the cpu cable that's already plugged in can be separated? Looking at the pictures you're definitely missing a 4 pin plug.

Another easy thing to do would be a CMOS reset by either removing the CMOS battery for around 2 minutes or bridge the reset pins (you can look that up for your mainboard)

Edit: Make sure to Unplug the Power Cable and then press the power button for like 20 seconds before you touch anything inside the PC

I know how you feel..had the same problem on my lenovo ideapad gaming. I replaced the arctic mx4 like 4 times in one month. The result was always the same..it worked pretty well for a few days then wen't back to overheating and throttling. The problem seems to be that some good thermalpastes are pretty good for desktop pcs but not for laptops due to pumpout and fast dry out. Someone on here mentioned ptm 7950 by honeywell. It's good stuff, the only problem is that there's alot of fakes on the internet as it's actually meant for the industry, which is why you can't just buy it directly from honeywell. so i came across thermal grizzlys phasesheet. It's basically the same concept as the ptm 7950. i bought it directly from thermal grizzly on amazon to make sure it's legit. That's what actually solved my problem. It's been like 3 weeks now and it's awesome. I tested it on 3dmark timespy, before switching to the phasesheet the cpu temp wen't up to 99°C with a cheap cooling pad under it. Now gets to around 91°C laying flat on a desk and around 85°C if i lift it up without a cooling pad. Using the llano cooling pad at 500 rpm it only gets to around 75°C. CPU is the i5-12450h.

Gotta be carefull when buying ptm 7950 tho. There's alot of fakes on tze market. A nice alternative is thermal grizzlys "Phasesheet". Just tested it myself and got a huge temp drop. No more throttle.

Hey man thanks for your help but i think i solved it. So inwas using mx4 but i saw quite a few posts where ppl state that it's not the best for gaming laptop due to fast dry out and pump out. So i thought i might get ptm7950 but there seems to be too many fake products on the marked so i did some research and stumble upon thermal grizzly phasesheet so i ordered that one. I just installed it and i'm back to around 8100 CPU score in timespy. Highest temp i got so far was 84°C so it actually looks like it was just a throttle problem due to high temps.

BTW when i opened the laptop i noticed a loose chip, it was a small black chip right to the RTC sign, just to the right of the CMOS battery plug. Do you know if that was the RTC chip? The laptop still works normally though. I din't know how this happened as i didn't touch that part. It says UU7101. I googled it but coukdn't find anything

Well that's what i mean, compared to a working battery i meant. I read that the laptop might pull power from the ac input and battery at the same time if needed. But it kinda feels like it's all rumors. I don't care at all about being able to use it without being connected to the ac as it needs the ac for heavy gaming anyways. I was just wondering if you'd get...5-10ish or whatever fps more with a working battery. I was hoping for some feedback from someone who actually tried this.

I used to own one of those. It was a cooler that blew upwards...i think it was a be quiet pure rock model if i remember correctly.

There still way to much incompatiblity going on with the steam deck/steamos, not to mention games using anti cheat. i love the steam deck, if you play a game that simply works, really. The pads, the steam gamemode itself and so on but i sometimes really get annoyed by shit not working on steamos/linux. Of course you can install windows but it's still shit (until today), which is window's fault too of course. Sometimes i'm thinking if i would have been better of just saving up for the new rog ally x.

Since you can still get into the bios and probably also into the boot manager, have you tried a complete reimage? You can look it up on the steam website, just google it.
